Really cool concept! love that you have to solve your own murder and that you can travel between the dead and living. The only problem I had was that clara kept repeating her lines.

A very charming game! I like the implementation of game mechanics woven in with cat wiles. There is some ceiling clipping in the office if I may point that out & The dialogues overlap a little more often than they should.

Might I propose a dialogue system where you can progress at your own pace c:

That being said, it has potential and I hope to see more. Bonus cuz I love the artstyle so much <3 <3

I’d really love to see this project become a full game! It’s impressive to see such a polished result for just a five-day jam. I loved the 2D and 3D art, as well as the music it all creates a great atmosphere.
A few small notes: the dialogues are a bit long at times. It would be nice to be able to interact with objects while the character is talking, without having to skip the dialogue entirely  that way you could keep exploring and collecting clues while listening.
I also noticed that the text prompts on the box were sometimes incorrect, and a few voice lines were a bit too quiet compared to the rest of the sound.
But those are small things that I imagine would be easy to polish after the jam, considering how much care was already put into this short version.
Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would have loved to play longer. Great work!

Would love to see this as a full game! Very ambitious for a 5-day jam. Loved all the 2D & 3D art, and the music. Some small notes... Grandma's dialogues are a bit long, I'd like the ability to interact with things while she's talking without just cutting the dialogue completely, so you can collect evidence while listening. Text prompts on the box sometimes said the wrong thing. I also found some voice lines too quiet compared to the rest. But I imagine these are all things you'd already be looking to include/fix post-jam, given all the care put into this short version already. Only giving this detailed feedback because it seems like it could make a really cute & fun full game, alongside titles like Duck Detective and Cat Detective Albert Wilde. Really liked it, wanted to play longer, great work.

Dang a whole feline detective adventure packed into a game jam! Impressive work right here. The game looks great and plays good. Didn't experience any technical issues on my end. The story is long-winded, wish it was broken up with more clue gathering and gameplay. Subtitles would indeed help a lot too, and honestly with the spirit realm thing going on, and platforming gameplay in general, what an excellent opportunity to change the geometry per realm ala Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver!

Anyway, really really liked this one. It came out great and really highlights your Godot expertise. Well done!

Sometimes the voice acting was a little too quiet - some subtitles would help a lot! I also experienced the same softlock as DRP (I also interacted with the evidence before the ghosty).
EDIT: Found the subtitles in the settings after playing, they didn't seem to work for me :<

Otherwise extremely charming and a very interesting concept and take on the theme! I like the aesthetic, running around as a dapper kitty was quite fun 👏

Really lovely game! We had a lot of fun with the designs and visuals, and solving your own murder is such a cool and unique take on the theme!

Only a few small things we noticed: while the dialogue is really nice to listen to, it can get a bit long, and sometimes it cuts out if you interact with another item, with no way to go back. It’d be awesome if you could re-talk to characters or maybe have a recorder to replay conversations! (Totally get that’d be tough within the jam’s time limit though — just a note for a future version!)

There were also a few minor visual bugs, like the UI filter not cropping correctly and not overlaying fully.

Plus… we may have accidentally flown into the void, which we’re guessing wasn’t part of the investigation, haha.

Still, this was a really fun and strong visual detective game! We’d love to see a more polished full version someday, even as it is, you all did an amazing job!

I wasn't able to get very far but I did enjoy what I played

I think it would really help if it was possible to change settings while in game, I needed to adjust the voice volume because some of the voice lines are a bit louder and some quieter, and I couldn't get the subtitles option to work.

other than that I really liked the 2D art for the characters, the music, voice acting, and the whole vibe of the game

I love me a good cat game, well done!

Thank you so much for playing!!
We've definitely heard a lot about making the subtitles better, def on the top of the list to-do :]
Thank you for your feedback, I'll pass it along to the team!

Hope you have a meow-tastic day :3

Very impressive game for such a short amount of time! The music, art style, mix of 2d and 3d, story- Amazing! I had a small bug at one point when I pressed 'C' for the clue menu it froze and got stuck like that so I had to restart. But overall, great game! Easily one of my favourites of the jam.

That was a very fun play! I really like the jazzy score and even looked up the composer afterwards! I actually composed the music for our game which also went in a jazzy direction hahaha. But anyway, I did find a bug where after I re-entered the normal world for the first time, the game had some strange visual artifacts that stuck around for the rest of the game (see screenshot). I am running it on an older pc (still pretty fast though) with windows 10. Nonetheless, the art style is great, same with the voice acting, and the whole thing is tied together extremely well! Congrats on a great game!

Those are some pretty nasty artifacts! We're definitely going to be taking a look at that after the jam! Glad you enjoyed the score, our composer for this jam is crazy talented.

Your team all around is really talented! Seriously great work!

Very great game! fun art style, and I like that the synth almost wobbles like a "meow".

on another note, I have to report a bug where I got softlocked in the game somehow, conversation was finished with grandma and the box didn't say "Enter Living World" as it was supposed to, I probably messed it up by interacting with the evidence before the grandma, well I don't know, that's just my guess.

another tiny thing is the ceiling doesn't have collision, not game breaking though as the bounds prevent the cat from leaving the game world.

overall fun experience, will certainly come back at a later time and complete the full thing!

edit: uploaded a picture to explain the issue in case you wanted to fix it

I loved this interpretation of the theme! The VA/models/2D art used were amazing and really drew me in!

Good job!! (❁´◡`❁)b

The things I would add is subtitles and being able to access the settings in-game! :)

Loved this. Nice Music, keeping elements for both worlds. Liked the artstyle and Story. Didn't find some clues first try but it all worked out in the end. Great game.

Submitted(+3)

Ohhhh I love the story ( I wont say any spoilers) and the art style, music, voices, EVERYTHING! such a cute and interesting game with the fun mechanic of being able to switch between the ghost and living realm! Good use of theme!

The most adorable detective! Also that idea for boxes was genuinely creative, nicely done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much. We are glad you enjoyed the game and the concept of switching worlds by box.
