The game is a bit hard at the start, that might be my fault lol but thank you for trying my game! :)

Gorgeous visuals and a bangin' soundtrack! I'm bad at bullet hells so I didn't get far but I love the idea!

Developer(+1)

It is a hard game! Thank you for trying it :)

I think this is the best bullet hell in the jam so far, great work.

Please check out our game if possible <3

GREAT ARTWORK AND MUSIC!! I really liked this and how you tied it into the theme with the more ships you killed the further you get and sometimes giving you power ups!

This is... wow this is incredibly impressive! Any feedback I have is nitpicky at best. But I can offer some ideas.

I think your ship here could benefit from some kind of acceleration curve. For instance, have you ever played Raptor: Call of the Shadows? That game, to this day, has a very unique control scheme for shmups where the acceleration of the plane is tied to the mouse position, but not directly. Rather, it accelerates toward the mouse, and the further away the mouse is, the faster it goes. Think along those lines.

I love love love the idea of starting the game over if you upgrade the ship. But if you're going to do that, those upgrades should be VERY significant. No 5% this, 1% that. Nah, we're talking 20%, 50%, hell, 100%. The game should become an entirely different experience if you upgrade. Just yeah also make sure you can't upgrade again until you defeat the next boss down the line, which I'm pretty sure you've already done!

Also a few more pickups along the way would be great. Different weapons like missiles and machineguns or auto-aiming lasers. Screen clearing nukes. That kind of thing.

Oh and one small trick for smooth-scrolling, non-repeating backgrounds: flip every other background image vertically. That way they'll mirror as they go but they won't get awkwardly cut off.

But I really do love what you have here! Congratulations on a great first game and an excellent choice of engine. :)

Thank you for that info! I was planning on adding more weapon types and such but I ran out of time :P But yes, if I keep working on the game(which I probably will), I'll make sure to implement more of the features you listed :)

Nice game. I'm not a big fan of this style but I think you did a good job overall! One thing to bring to your attention. It's VERY easy to camp the top of the screen and destroy everything as it loads in. I see you added some invisible barrier to prevent this, but it only appears to last for one shot. The second I shoot twice I'm able to make it through and kill everything before they have a chance to fight. Also, the music abruptly cut out during the second wave and the subsequent boss fight, but that might be on me because I was killing everything way too fast. It came back in wave 3 though so not a crippling bug by any means, but something to make you aware of anyways. Thanks for making it!

Thank you so much for your comment! I appreciate all feedback! I might keep working on the game for my own sake of learning and I will try to fix what you told me, thank you again!

Awesome game, i'm not a really SHMUP type of player but this game is really fun and pretty easy to understand :)

Forgot to mention tutorial. WASD or Arrow Keys to move, space to shoot. Store contains permanent upgrade but you have to "sacrifice" your run to gain them or you can keep going and try to beat your high score!
