Wow, amazing experience! Even though this is not my type of game, this touched me emotionally, especially at the dinner part. I like the way you tell a story here with multiple interactions with the environment. I also appreciate the fact you don't allow the player to go to the kitchen before exploring the rest of the house. Really nice touch to force the player to go through the narrative! The only thing I would suggest here is to develop a little bit more on the "creature(?)". I would love to have more explanation to its existence and for it to have a certain impact on the gameplay (maybe something you have to avoid? something that haunts you and may kill you or make you lose the game?). What I mean here is that you have a bunch of opportunities to improve on this aspect of the game and make it even more interesting (just a personal opinion though since I am well aware that this is mostly a narrative driven game)!
The story and storytelling is extremely creative here! However, I think the theme could be more clearly related to the jam's theme. Also, the ending was kinda abrupt and I couldn't understand it that well. But I still understood the general message and it does blend with the jam's theme!
Visually, even though the art is not my style, I recognize that it is really well done and it fits really well with the game's theme! You did an amazing work with the art here as it evokes something eery and kinda creepy. The choice of colors is also extremely well done here! The contrast between black/white and a colourful scene does a really good job at transmiting the duality of death and life! Really cool detail! The animations and UI are simple and do the job right. The font is perfect for the theme and overall I felt really immersed in this world you've built!
Overall, the game is really well done even though it's no my type. I have to take my subjectivity away and recognize that there's a really well done piece of art here. The game builds this tension and mistery that is interesting and eery. The message is powerful and impactful and tells you a story in a creative way and with really well drawn art. Despite the somehow abrupt ending, the theme is clear in general and it was an ejoyable experience that hooked me to the narrative. Congratulations on your submission!
