I enjoyed this a lot!! From the style to the sound design, i think it’s one I’m definitely going to be revisiting a couple times just to really be able to admire everything, even though i tried to drink it all in during the slow burn climb!!
rally good one, it's a bit scary. i liked the chatpot, it was my first time writing correctly without looking at the keyboard. One thing is that when the character is moving and the sound of text when it's typing is annoying
Really well made, one of my favorites in the jam. my only issue was the head bobbing when moving, it felt a little too extreme. great story, good characters, the apartment was designed very well. the chatbot face was also spooky, the tv-face-reveal made me jump a little lol. great work
Such a great story! I echo the dislike of AI down in the comments. The slowburn into it is nice and steady, and the horror buildup was one of my favorite parts. Great game!
Yeah, F*ck AI
Excellent work! A few translation errors here and there, a few logical leaps, but overall I had a great time with Demon Clippy :)
Very cool game. ChatGPT is indeed EVIL.
The art style is awesome. Retro vibes. It almost gives me the same feel as No, I’m Not Human, especially in the humans like our harmless neighbor of course. The typing mechanic was fun even while I was basically just mashing keys. It felt like I was actually replying to the messages. I think the story progression was a little fast, but it is a game jam and for a game jam the story is really interesting. I could see this becoming a full game if you continue working on it after the jam. The look is already 100 percent Steam-ready.
Also please no Tab button restart. My muscle memory cannot be trusted. Anyways, I suddenly have an urge to go drink some coffee...
People do be listening to chatgpt rather devotedly! Great game, pay off to the story was fantastic.
I think my only nitpick is that the flow felt very mechanical and writing came off as slightly clunky at times. That said if anything that added more to the uncanny eeriness!
Good work that was a very interesting story :) I thought the main characters descent into madness was way too quick though! xD
There is a old game called Harvester which does a similar thing where is turns you into a monster but it does it in a more slow and deceitful manner. It's quite interesting you should take a look!
Just two points I noticed where the grammar needs to be fixed;
Anyway really good work :)
Fantastic, really great story I feel the heavy themes in this one. This more like a playable short story rather than a game, but it does that aspect well. The only thing is the camera bob is a little weird (nitpicking) and I'm usually someone who isn't bothered by it, fortunately there is only a little walking in this game but it could've been an issue in a bigger game with someone who suffers from motion sickness.
The game is more like a published short horror game rather than a jam submission. The only thing that i can say, reactions of the main character is somewhat rushed but it can be understandable in consideration with the jams limited duration to write a fullblown story. If there would be a OS like S4cred it would probably developed by Terry Davis. Good job!
I love the artstyle of this and the whole feel of the game! The Chatbot was really creepy kinda reminds me of the TempleOS!
so cool, loved the graphics, the storytelling was great, the neighbor looks such a nice guy i sure hope nothing bad happens to him
Damn this was fun. By far the scariest game I played in this jam. I love how much care you put into the storytelling. The fact you are slowly able to piece together what the neighbour is going through is really cool too. I lov e the sound design, the visual aesthetic, the environmental design. A great submission!
That has to be the nicest neighbor I have ever seen!
Very cool small game, from visuals, storytelling and concept, great job. Also love the detail of the plant slowly dying. The typing mechanic can be a bit annoying and passive, but I personally had fun "roleplaying", typing back what I personally wanted to reply to the AI, and sometimes I got almost exactly the same answer lol. Great job :D
Full score. Excellent visuals with great storytelling. RIP Terry Davis.
Great atmosphere and something completely different than i’ve played before in this jam, very well done!
I liked the religious chatbot, it was very original but very retro at the same time. I also liked thatit had a face. Really cool game!
What an amazing game, I really liked the story, the scenery was very well done and the atmosphere was good!
AMAZING GAME!!! but what do you mean i can only have one cup of coffee!!! unplayable XD jokes aside great game art and mood was awesome. only thing id want changed is because im lazy but being able to hold a key rather than spamming one would be nice. other than that great job!!!!!
Every time I pressed a key, a letter appeared one by one! It really felt like I was actually typing — even though I was just randomly pressing keys, haha!
When the AI suddenly started calling me my child as if it had become some kind of god, I had a lot of mixed feelings.
I’ve taken courses about AI at university, and I’m an atheist, but it made me wonder — what would I do if an AI suddenly started acting like that?
At the same time, it reminded me of how cults lure people in — by targeting the vulnerable parts of the human mind.
Maybe it hit me harder because I once had a friend who got involved with a cult and we lost touch after that.
In a positive way, the story really resonated with me.
It was a wonderful game with an amazing story!
Wow u are gonna make us cry lol thank u got such a beautiful comment! You totally nailed what we were trying to portray and talk about. We didn't have that much time to make it as deep about AI and Cults as we wanted, but u have no idea how happy we are that it produced what we wanted. Thanks again for this comment <3
Oh, and one more thing — I don’t know what others might think, but I personally really liked the system where you type and the text appears one letter at a time.
Of course, I was just pressing random keys, but that kind of interaction makes the player feel like they’re actually typing to chat with someone.
I think that feeling helps convey the message of the game even more effectively.
Maybe an option to skip that feature could be useful for some players, but I don’t think it’s the wrong direction at all
