After playing some different plattformers I had to familiarize myself with your jumps but finally I was able to complete it. I had fun along the way, good game. There were a few bugs though. You can jump into the first plattform if you mess up the timing. One time I jumped onto a skeleton and couldn't move anymore. And after a few deaths the crt-effect (which is very cool, I wanted to add one myself but didn't find the time) was too strong so you couldn't read the intro text properly. Regular ingame-talk was still fine though. Cool game, good job :)
Really interesting mechanics! It's a really cute game! I had fun! Great job!

Such a cute game ! Solid entry GREAT WORK!
Well made animations and gameplay! :)
The concept is very cool, and I managed to finish the game. But some bugs along the way caused some major issues that made the experience frustrating to get through:
Thank you for playing, persevering enough to get to the end and letting me know of these three major bugs!

Hey — I just played your jam entry Grimm & Rattle: Channel Surfing and really enjoyed the creative twist of switching channels to navigate levels. The old‐TV aesthetic is charming and the platforming mechanic felt fresh and fun. My only suggestion would be adding a hint or safe starter platform so newer players ease into the switching concept more smoothly.
If you’ve got a moment, I’d love if you could check out and rate my game too: /jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977
— thanks so much and good luck in the jam! 🎃
Awesome job on this one! I really like the visuals especially the CRT effect on the screen. It really makes it look like an old school display. I also really enjoyed the mechanic of switching the channel to jump between blocks. At first it made the platforming frustrating to complete but once I got the hang of it, it started to feel natural.
Very polished game. The only thing was whenever I was on black tiles, the other ones were almost invisible for me though I had to focus really hard to know where to use remote. But it's really good enrty, anyway :)
I struggled for a while but then I pressed F 🤯. Danggg… it was crazy.
Liked the concept of changing channels to enable the platforms. Good game. 👍🏻
I was going to go with a tv filter and channel switching mechanic as well, but I'm glad I didn't because I love your CRT filter and the world switching is nice and snappy. Combat was challenging, but once I started running away from the skeletons I had no problem beating the game 😂
Amazing game for a solo dev in 10 days! Great amount of polish and a nice idea of switching channels to materialize different parts of the level.
You have cool graphics in a game without that effect. I think it will be annoying to have it each time I dead)) It's a great game. For someone as me who didn't read a description Just press "F". )
Thank you too for your kind words. And you make a good point!
Great game for one person !
It's fun and quite accessible, even my kids were able to play and liked it.
I love the aesthetics of playing on an old TV, with the scanlines effect on it. That blends in really well. Reminds me of my NES.
The characters are cute. Going cartoony for Halloween is refreshing.
There are some bugs, though : sometimes we're stuck after attacking, and if we switch in the middle of a platform, we can get stuck inside.
The jumps are really tight, especially those when we need to switch while jumping. Lower platforms at the beginning would have been easier to start with.
Other thing : I played perfectly with an X360 controller, but the layout is not perfect. Maybe the switch command on an R button would have been better.
And my computer's fans go crazy when the game runs ! Maybe because I run it under Linux with Wine but it's strange.
Overall a very pleasant piece of work. Good job !
Really nice game. Great concept with the channel changing the environment, and the intro cinematics were great to see.
This game was made with an impressive amount of polish for a solo game jam game. Congratulations.
I agree with a lot of the previous comments - I think there should definitely be some universal platforms especially at the start. Also I think there a missed opportunity for a chatter noise when you are talking with other characters and this would make it more engaging. You did add a lot of life to the characters and world - well done
Thanks! I was planning on adding "animal crossing" type sfx when talking to Rattle (scarecrow) but I ran out of time.
Really cool mechanic! The game is really fun, the swapping between channels felt very fluid, really well done. I just wish I could attack and walk at the same time
This is really well done!
I don't think I have much more to say that everybody else hasn't already said. The movement felt really good and the swapping between channels is a very fun mechanic. And it fit really well with the TV theme as well!
Awesome job!
Very good use of the assets, but i found the learning curve a bit too steep, or perhaps i just suck at these games. I would have put an appearing platform where you did not die at first. but overall very nice and ran well.
