The cube with death wall is already hard, using this dead wall to place on target is too much from me xD
I like the idea, it's very orginal and whole design is cute and polished. But this is just not the game for me.
Very high notes in almost all categories :) Good job :D
The puzzles were super unique! I actually got stuck on level 1 for quite a while. But once you grok it, the mechanics start making sense.
Took me a while on level 1 then rattled through some levels once i know what i was to do. very simple clean and effective. Just what you want from a game jam. good job.
Wow... this is incredible! Very challenging, very fun and very unique idea! I'm shocked this is a jam submission! Great work!
Honestly? Best game I've played here by far. You guys really knocked it outta the park with this one!
It reminds me of this Flash game I used to play back in the day—"Bloxorz" (was that an inspiration? 😉)—but with a very clever and unique twist of not falling face down, which integrates the theme for this GameJam wonderfully and cleverly.
The puzzles are challenging with a well-paced increase in difficulty—exactly as they should be—and the entire game looks polished and with a few minor bugs.
My only two remarks are:
- It might just be me, but the phrasing in the first level made it hard to realize that I couldn’t go face down XD
- Although the chosen camera angle works beautifully, it can sometimes be difficult to understand the level’s layout from that perspective. Perhaps allowing the player to move the camera around (anchored around the Y-axis and freely on the XZ plane) would make navigation a bit easier.
If this ever becomes a full game with more features (and there are plenty you could add), hit me up! I’d gladly be the first to wishlist it lol.
Splendid work! 👏
Thank you for the kind words! Glad you had a fun time with it.
Yes, it does bear a resemblance, but I am not sure if it was an inspiration from the back of my mind or just came up with it on my own. However, that game was definitely used later on our moodboard to explain the concept to my teammate, so it may have been an unconscious inspiration.
Thank you! May I know what bugs you encountered? We could possibly iron them out after the jam :)
Yeah we had some feedback regarding the tutorial level. If we continue to work on this game after the jam, we will definitely find a way to improve it.
That's an idea we actually considered and would probably implement in a full release if we decide to make one. Thank you!
Thank you for your insightful feedback and kind words. We will keep you updated in case we choose to work on it more :)
Thank you for your fast and thorough reply! Warms my heart seeing developers like you!
I had most of my trouble (which I can recall) at level 8.
The following breaks the screen and causes the level to restart:
- start>w>w>fail
- start>w>d>s>fail
- start>d>w>a>s>s>s>d>s>d>d>d>d>w>w>d>fail
- start>d>w>a>s>d>w>fail
- start>w>a>s>s>s>s>s>fail
(are these because I slam myself into the wall? If so, in other levels it works just fine. Perhaps the level can not be solved with these steps, and so it restarts? Can't tell, but I figured it was worth mentioning, since I found it a bit frustrating considering I can just backtrack my steps)
Teleportation bug:
I can not seem to recreate this, but at one playthrough I teleported constantly between the bottom left purple teleporter and its link at the other side.
Again, REALLY good game. I enjoyed every second of it. Thank you!
Thank you a lot for this. We must have missed this bug in level 8. I don't know how that managed to happen, as we tested each level a few times. But glad you let us know, that is definitely something we will try to fix afterwards.
It definitely shouldn't be killing you for doing those steps. I'm pretty sure I know how to fix it, I am just confused why this is happening.
With the teleport bug, do you mean you kept teleporting without even moving? If so, this is new and would need to be investigated more. If you mean you teleported after moving and falling off a ledge that was a problem in one level, which I thought I fixed because I wasn't able to recreate it either.
Thank you for this detailed bug report, it helps us a lot :)
And thank you for your kind words, these really mean a lot, I am truly happy you are enjoying the gamw!
EXTREMELY fun game! I had such a blast playing, awesome work =)
Yo this is so fun! I don't even have any critisizm, you accomplished what you were going for it seems and it worked out! Maybe a more interesting musical track would improve it, but thats about it!
I appreciate the kind words. Yea the sound track could have possibly been more interesting but I am not a musician and I didn't have access to the software I would've liked, but I gave it a go! I'll definitely have to practice more with making sound tracks.
thank you again for playing and the input. Glad you liked the game:)
Wow my brain hurts :-D
It was hard but fun, after I learned not to jump to my death off the ledges.
The TV is cute and one can put in a long time thinking about every move, thumbs up from me.
Very much enjoyed the game. Very creative idea extended to great amount on. the time. However as others have said the direction of rolling is somewhat unintuitive due to the isometric viewpoint.
Wow, nice game!
I really enjoyed the puzzle challenge, although the learning curve felt too steep for me. The mechanic is very simple to understand and quite hard to master, which is exactly what I would want from a good puzzle game. It also helps that the visual presentation is very clear and crisp, the sounds are juicy, and the restart is very fast and not in the least annoying. Also, kudos for creating a whole alternative mode of controls. This is very impressive!
My main issue with the game is that rolling direction is somewhat unintuitive, so I died so many times just because I was accidentally pressing the wrong button. Maybe this can be solved with an on-demand hint that will remind the player which button corresponds to which direction.
Overall, great work, thank you for the game!
thanks for playing and thank you for the insightful feedback. We could definitely consider adding an optional directional hint toggle, my teammate got feedback that it would be good but I thought it was too much for it to be there at all times. It being a toggle is a great idea, thanks.
thank you for playing and all the good feedback, glad you enjoyed:)
Great job on your game! I like puzzle games like this where the mechanic is simple but can be used to create some really challenging puzzles. This is a great idea for a jam game because it's easy to pick up and play but difficult to master. Nice job!
