For a first game well done, you have something playable that is connected to the theme

some small pointers

1) Update the coins when you buy something, its easier to see what you still have

2) This is more a personal preference, but usually when you buy health you get the health. in this case it was max health and you still need to wait for regen. Again not a bat thing and can be intentional but i would call it max health then instead.

Good job

Good job.  The pile on at the end was kinda crazy :D

Congrats on submitting your game! I really enjoyed using the upgrade shop to enhance my characters abilities. I also thought the idea of the enemies coming out of the tv was a nice tie to the theme of the jam. I think it would be more interesting if the enemies spawned from multiple locations and put more pressure on the player. I also think an end goal would be a good next step for this game's development (reach the end of the level, take out as many enemies as possible, etc.). Nice job overall!

Well, that's definetely something. Good job on at least "finishing" and submitting it. It's actually has a pretty catchy gameplay loop of endless upgrades. For starteds, I wish background music would loop :D

Jump sound effect is spot on, fits very well. Perhaps you should've gone with more minimalistic approach to graphics, less complicated forms to be able to animate them at least a little.

Also one of the enemies landed on my head and I was unable to do anything to him :(

Keep on keeping on, the core of the game is there and it's fun!

Nice game, but needs a few tweaks.

Some things I'd change or add.

I'd rather just hold mouse down to fire every chance I get. click spam games are a not ideal imo. The coin count not updating immediately after you buy an upgrade (updates after exiting shop.  Prevent the player from walking off the map.  Since the play area is so small, lock the camera in a position that allows the player to see the whole scene. running between the shop and the spawner just to find there are a mountain of enemies lol.  I think the enemies should not collide with one another, otherwise they can push on eachother when they spawn (one of them landed on my head lol)  Oh and the music turns off when you open the shop and never turns back on :(

There's a game in here, but it needs a little more polish. There are some bugs like the coin count doesn't update and show you spent them till you lave the menu, you can fall off the map and you don't game over, just keep falling, and the game play feels very basic.  It's a good start though and with enough polish it could be pretty fun, just right now in it's current state it isn't that fun to play.

A few other observations, if you get far enough the enemy can just land on your head and stun lock you till you die because you can't move and you can't aim to hit them, that really makes it feel unfair.

Edit: Good job on the sprite work, that's something I did like about it.
