I suck at platformers but thought this was great fun! I died 30 times and my time spent was 12 minutes and 20 seconds.
The fast-paced music really kept up momentum and the sound effects were amazing too. I loved the retro style, art, and animations - it all came together so nicely! It did throw me off that jump wasn't the spacebar (my muscle memory kept messing with me) but once I got the hang of it, it was super fun!

I had a lot of fun!! This was a really solid entry. but that one spike behind the block :( . Seriously though good job!
Simple but good puzzle platformer game (I played it twice). The jumping control feels good.
There are hilariously cheeky platformer bits that trick the player into jumping, and while not entirely similar, I do like these good ol' classic Trap Adventure 2 moments.
The BGM and SFX, while seemingly minor, enhance the experience and make the game feel polished.
Overall, good game. Keep up the good work.
Veeery slick game and gameplay. Played it twice. Once on the pc and once on the... toilet. Ran smooth on my old phone though! - new powers were implemented at a good pace. well done all around!
I also love the soundtrack hard resetting when you die. it brings the mental momentum back up.
Such a cute little puzzle platformer, very well polished too! I could absolutely see this being a longer game with wildly complex puzzles with the mechanics introduced, and I mean who doesn't love a CRT filter on a pixel art game? Very professional looking and very solid game
Hey! This was great! Some really nice introductions to the skills that ramped in difficulty, plus the combination sections felt well thought out.
If i had to nit, the visual height of the character looking like you could slip through a 1 block size hole but actually couldn't was a downside, but honestly, that is it.
Your games have improved drastically each jam, i'm really glad to see it 'cos you always had some really impressive and striking looking games and the gameplay is there to back it up now too!
Song absolutely slaps also. GJ!
I tried it on mobile and web. The wheel control for mobile gave different speeds depending on the angle I moved my finger, causing me to miss jumps whereas on web it seems to be constant speed. I'd switch the wheel for two button, especially since up and down movements weren't actually in the game. The music was nice, I liked the muting whenever you died. It was also pretty funny when dashing into spikes caused the dead guy to fly! Good game!
Dude, this is impressive. One of the most solid platformer experiences I played on GWJs. The levels are well designed, and the end plot twist felt great!
Hey! Great work! The game is fun, and the controls are great.
I was hit by a bug, unfortunately, where I basically soft-locked myself because of a weird collision box in the pushable object, so, a restart thingy would be nice!
BTW, awesome work on the localization! Was super surprised by that!
Keep it up!
Really cool idea and the music was a really good choise imo and added to the pacing of rushing through the levels :D
i liked the dash ability the most and also just dropping dead and the music stopping was really fitting and then restarting again. everything felt good. autojump was cool to bounce around :D (keeping jump pressed)
The character reminded me a bit of kirby (the gameboy/nes version) dunno why and i was hoping for a little kirby dance in the end lol (im just kidding, but it would have been epic :D ). the artwork was really cool. great game good job :D
Very cute puzzle that is maybe a bit too easy but I think easy is good for a jam, more people will play it. I do think the masks theme could be incorporated more by even just making the power-up sprites the colored masks instead of diamonds. The sound and music were awesome and I love the shader. Overall, very good entry!
So, I have mixed feelings about this one.
First, the good: the art is great. Simple, but it sells the ambience. Good CRT shader. The audio is solid too; even though it’s just one song, it doesn’t feel repetitive. Good choice. The jump sound is a tiny bit loud, but other than that, the audio is on point.
Now... I know you’ve worked a lot on your game, so it’s hard to receive criticism, but I’ll be constructive. It’s almost certain that people will make puzzle platformers for game jams, I think it’s the most crowded genre in jams. So I’ve played hundreds of these already (not exaggerating): some good, some bad, some average. Some had something special (even if it was something small), and some didn’t. The puzzles in your game are very simple and straightforward, and they’re almost laid out in a way that if you “run forward,” you’d solve them, so there wasn’t really a puzzle to be solved.
I don’t see the theme implemented other than in the title and the fact that the characters have masks (I actually thought the power-ups were diamonds, not masks). And the controls... I think the spacebar is the standard for jumping. So many times I was like, “Okay, now jump and dash,” and I’d just instinctively press space and dash to my death :-/ When you make a game, it’s good to look up standard controls for that type of game so the player doesn’t have to relearn them, especially for a genre with such standardized controls like platformers.
I hope this feedback helps you improve your game. I’d love to see you add something special that makes it stand out from the rest of the puzzle platformers, a new original mechanic, different ways to solve the same puzzle, or more fun elements. Good luck!
Thanks for the feedback! I really tried to make the game and the puzzles a bit more challenging (for the later levels), but since the rooms were so small I ended up without any ideas, so I just kept things as simple as possible. Also, I should start using configurable controls, that would probably help a lot XD.
I know the feeling, trust me. It happened to me too. Two game jams ago, I went for a puzzle platformer (that was when I realized I needed to change my type of games), and I found myself really constricted by the options. It looks like a big space, but the rooms tend to be around 12x18 tiles, so there’s only so much you can do with them, you run out of ideas quickly. Here’s the game if you want to play it; it’s short, only 13 easy levels.

Now, what I was pointing out is that my game was ALSO a basic puzzle platformer, but I added a twist. Instead of solving puzzles like every other puzzle platformer, you’d use the bodies of your dead enemies to do it. It sounds creepy, but the theme of the jam was “Death is an Opportunity,” so I used the bodies as an opportunity to solve the levels instead of the classic “push the box, get the key, escape” puzzles.
I hope that helps for your next jam, because you clearly have the talent to make something visually very pleasing and the technical skills to make a platformer, it just needs that clever twist to make it stand out. Good luck!
I like the mechanics. I feel like the puzzles were a bit too easy, but overall, a good game!
Quite fun! Perfect length, was glad to see levels designed to make use of all three masks. The visuals set a nice tone for the story, really enjoyed the player sprite too.
Overall, great job :) Btw, impressive score in your screenshot, I was nowhere close to that haha.
