I used the TV 3D model provided by gamedev tv, Kenney 2D tile asset and Dotween(Hotween) for tweening in unity

I was consumed... due to lack of skills in hardcore platforming, I guess :(
Very intriguing setup and polished presentation! I liked the TV static shader and overall 'juiciness' of the game. Reminded me a bit of Thomas was alone, it being kind of a minimalistic platformer about existential questions also.
The difficulty has got me, though. I was barely able to get out of the first pit, and then when I was inevitably consumed again and had to start over from the very beginning, that was it for me. I like to think of the dark void (cool visual effect btw!) as a metaphor of depression, exacerbated by the empty and pointless videogame consumerism. What are we running from when constantly pursuing unachievable goals in these virtual worlds that are ultimately worth nothing and are profoundly inadequate to fill our inner void, left by the loss of our loved ones? When put like this, maybe putting the game away after failing again and again is the only way to avoid being consumed.
Thank you for creating this evocative experience and sharing it!
Thank you!!! I really liked your interpretation of my game!
Great game! Its too hard for me. At some point i though i got better when i reached the double jump, but maybe is easier to go to the right side than the left.
Nice idea that you applied the 2D vertical platformer game inside a TV. However, I felt like the gas was going up too fast and I can't get out of the level. The writing was basic but very neat once it mentioned about a void consuming you.
great idea. the game feels very great and the player feels heavy but it kinda worked nice one!
It looks so innocent and yet I panicked and died :D I can't work under pressure apparently XD
Cool Idea, I liked it.
Fun game. I love the visuals. Some levels were repeating and idk if it was intended or not
Hey glad you liked it! Yeah this was my try at generatinga tower using procedural generation but i ended up not creating many tiles so sometimes you'll see the same levels in a row.
Great game! Looks super cool on that old tv with crt effect :)
I like the idea but it feels like the gas is too fast and not so forgiving, also it feels like it's kind of randomly generated, so I feel like I can't rally learn the layout of the stage to get better.
That said though, this is a very solid game and I like the mood you are setting, just needs a little tweeking IMO. I didn't notice any obvious bugs and felt compeleld to restart each time I died. Maybe that's what you get consumed by?
Thanks! Yeah i probably ended up having that developer difficulty mentality where the game feels too easy for me because i already played it many times so i ended up maybe making it too hard and yeah the levels were kind of randomly generated but there are not so many patterns the generation only arranges tiles in orde for you to be able to go up, i think it suffers from not being very great at being replayable so yeah you'll probably not play long enough to get used to the tiles
I really like the idea. In fact, my first thought was something along these lines, with the platform game being in the TV, but I didn't think I could pull off the effect in the allotted time, so well done. IMO the gas rises just a bit too fast, and is just a little too unforgiving. I like the music, but I personally would have it not restart from the beginning every single death, especially since the deaths are so quick and common. The player likely won't ever get to hear the entire track.
The smoke effect, the CRT bend on the corners of the game, visually it all looks really cool! This was neat!
CRT effect is cool
You did a lot with the black and white style
I like that you can do quick restarts
You could swap the assets out and with something that is still black and white and have a lot more character.
Cool visuals (looking like its actually within the TV) and it is actually pretty difficult! I tried a couple of times and couldn't get to the end (if there is an end!)
I like it and the smoke looks cool af
