Nice entry! As others have mentioned, the core idea is solid, and the game shows a lot of potential. The movement mechanics, utilizing gun knockback, are creative and add a unique twist to the gameplay. However, some areas could benefit from refinement. Increasing the shot speed slightly might help with the issue of bouncing off walls and into your own bullets, making the combat feel smoother.

Additionally, implementing clearer enemy spawn patterns and reducing sudden collisions could enhance the player experience. Adding background music and sound effects would also contribute to the overall atmosphere. Introducing item drops and enemy variety could further enrich the gameplay.

The core idea here is solid, and the game has a lot of potential. It could use a bit more polish, but what’s here already shows promise.

The main issue I ran into was bouncing off walls and right into my own bullets. Increasing the shot speed a little might help with that and make the combat feel smoother.

Still, you’ve got a strong foundation to build on, and this concept has plenty of room to grow. Nice work!

Good mechanic, using gun knockback to move around was very neat and reminded me a bit of certain wand setups from Noita. If self-bullet damage was removed, or otherwise limited to some kind of condition, and enemies had less sudden spawn-ins and hit collision, it'd be very good. Still pretty nice otherwise.

First off, great job finishing your game! I think the movement mechanics were very creative, and the fact that you have to both avoid the enemies and your own bullets is very interesting. I'm sure you may not have had time to add it in yet, but some nice maybe 8-bit background music would be a nice touch to this style of game. I do think that it would be really cool to add item drops when you kill enemies, like things such as healing items that restore some of the player health, and maybe an item that gives the player a shield bubble that absorbs one hit of damage before popping. Enemy variety would be really cool too, like maybe adding an enemy that only moves via teleporting from one spot to another? Could be something cool to look into. Otherwise, you've got a good start to your game so far, well done!

Very good mechanics for the game.

Okay theme-wise a little off but dude that game was fun.  Feel like dome keeper/enter the gungeon atheistic.

- art was super appealing to me

- game play was simple but fun

- I think I'd add a sound for when the monster get you

- I also die sometimes and im not sure why which feels unfair

- I also didnt realize how fast I could fire till i was like half way through but idk how to fix that

If you have a sec I love some feedback on my submission.

I appreciate the difficulty of only moving with the recoil of the weapon.  One thing that I didn't really like was being killed by enemies that appear suddenly without me having a chance to avoid them - sometimes without even seeing them at all.  I'm not sure what the best way to avoid this would be though.  Maybe ensuring that the enemies always spawn a certain distance from the player, or not adding the enemy collision box until the enemy has been on screen for a second or two.

The pixel art is awesome btw.

Fun game. I enjoyed just flying around the square and blasting!

Would prefer if it had maybe a bit more variety on the enemies, maybe some more background music or sfx. Or even other levels with different schemas.

Nicely done though.

Fantastic game. I must admit my favourite mechanic in any game is the movement and its even better to see it paired with attacking so its good to see I'm not the only developer who thinks this.
