Nice visual shader! You've nailed the style, never have I before played such an intense and morbid rock-paper-scissors session :)
Great visual! Love the dealer design!
Wow, so much polish is amazing
The style, the animations and overall aesthetic is top notch.
The only thing that was lacking is the strategy, it's basically a cartoon, just click anything and watch one of 6 clips play. it would be nice if you would add some strategy, in your inspiration buckshot roulette there are items that help you nudge the ods, there is secret information and ways to predict it with some certainty.
It was really fun to play it, hope you will expand on this game
Overall I am amazed what people can achieve in such short time.
Yes, I totally agree with you, right now it's more an animation than a game.
I wanted to add some strategy / roguelike elements but I didn't have enough time.
But I've learned a lot from the jam, I'll definitely experiment with this kind of game more.
Thank you very much!
Very cute! I had fun! And I really love the visual style of the game! Cell shading with outline? Fantastic!
Keep it up!
Hey — just played your entry for the jam and really enjoyed the stylish tension you built around such a simple idea. The visuals are crisp, the sound design supports the mood well, and I found myself engaged throughout. One suggestion: adding just a little more variety in the rounds or pacing could help the experience feel even more dynamic.
If you have a minute, I’d love if you could check out my game and drop a rating: /jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977
— thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 🎃
I'm a sucker for cell-shaded art style, and this game pulls it off so well. It has a very tense atmosphere that makes me sweat a little before making a decision, it kept me coming back for a few rounds despite the very simplistic gameplay (it literally is just rock paper scissor). Keep it up! this is such a polished gem of a game :D
Thank you much! :)
loved the visual . was interesting
Love the visual style!
That was the most tense game of rock, paper, scissors I've ever had and I really liked it. I hope you keep improving on it, cause you can do something really interesting with this. Congrats!
Thank you so much!
I might, I'm definitely going to explore that art style further!
Really liked the visuals! Thanks for linking that paper below, I'm looking forward to trying to replicate some elements in Godot!
Very nice entry. It just bring russian roulette to my mind. How do you achieve this kind of art style?
There is definitely a big Buckshot Roulette inspiration!
For the art style, I replied to a comment below detailling how I achieved it in Unreal
One of my top games of the jam. Very slick and polished, good shaders and post processing used for a nice art style.
Basically just rock, paper scissors, but i really enjoyed the animations, and presentation of this one . great job.
This was great I had to keep going until I won lol, I am glad I read others feedback and reviews otherwise I may not have downloaded it - great work :)
Impressive! I love the style and the animations are super smooth. You are probably very busy, but if possible, could you point me in the direction for getting that outline look in UE?
Hey, thank you so much!
For the outlines and cel shader, it's a post process material. On this artstation post, you'll find a paper that explain how to do a similar one.
There are other methods, but what’s nice about this one is that it uses the normal information from your material to generate the outlines. Most of the outlines in the scenes are made with very simple normal maps. for instance, the rock texture is just a basic cloud texture converted into a normal map.
The outlines and shadows are also pure black to give it a dark horror vibe. The game only uses one spotlight and the player can’t move, so I can really focus on making the scene look good from a single angle.
Honestly, my main motivation for this jam was to experiment with a NPR artstyle in Unreal, so I'm still figuring stuff out.
Thank you so much! I can't wait to try this out. Game Jams are perfect for working on a specific technique. Personally, I used this jam to learn the basics of GODOT. If you look carefully at my entry, it is basically a combo of the three projects from the GameDevTV Gotdot 2D Tutorial course, lol.
Anyway, thanks again. Good luck with game dev!
Good luck too, can't wait to see your future projects!
Stunning visuals (especially for a rps game).
I would like to skip the dealer screen it made the game feel a bit slow to wait for.
And one advise, a small pet peeve of mine is please offer a web version. I don't know how easy it is in Unrealengine but to play your game i had to download, extract, be warned by windows that i should not play it, virus scan it (twice) and have my pc crash. All those thing make it i almost skipped this game
Yes, sadly Unreal doesn't allow html build anymore.
Not the best for a game jam. T
Thank you very much for going through the effort of downloading it, that's very kind of you!
The game has impressive visual style and polishing feels in all the details ! Good work
I love the idea and the visuals! Great work!
This might be the best-looking RPS game I have and probably will ever play! Great work!
My only feedback is that the dealer's choosing animation could be faster (or both could pick simultaneously).
visuals were amazing, animations were great, however the "waiting for dealer" screen felt a little long if possible a webgl version would be great! i had a lot of fun playing this, it's very visually appealing
