Hey there! 👻

I just played Candy Hunt and had a blast! The endless runner concept is fun, and the jump-scare at death added a nice touch of surprise. The bat enemy was a great addition, though I found it a bit challenging to judge the perspective and collision at times. Perhaps adjusting the hit detection could improve the experience.

If you have a moment, I'd love for you to check out my game Hush Boy, Hush and drop a rating: /jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977

Thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 🎃

Thank you!

Better collisions/collision feedback would have been the next thing I had tackled if I had more time.

no worries! great entry!

Nice Job on your game!

Nice endless runner! The perspective and collision make it a bit hard to tell what’s ahead or what exactly hit you.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! The collision feedback would have surely been the first thing I would have changed with more time.

Good endless runner! (just like ours!)

I liked the way you have used the models and the bat is great addition.

This game jam has a lot of amazing 3d runners! It is one of them :)

I liked the result, especially the game over screen. I would just make a few adjustments to have a better response when an enemy hits me.

Developer(+1)

Thank you. Hit response was mentioned by others as well, and would have been the first thing I would have changed with more time.

The music is really good! I like the aesthetic. I'm not sure if I'm dodging the enemies correctly because sometimes I don't know how I died.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to polish much, and better communication of hitboxes would be one of the first things to do next.

Ah that makes sense!

Nice job on your game! I really liked the visuals and the game over effect where the skeleton pops out of the screen. I also like the perspective of playing an old school tv within the game. The perspective however made it difficult at times to properly line yourself up with the candy.  Good job!

Nice proposal. Really liked the visuals and the "star fox" gameplay. The perspective got in the way to catch the ammo and avoid obstacles, but I liked the game! By the way, nice touch on the game over ;)

Neat little game. I'm a fan of the game running in the TV. I made the same choice. :) I LOVE that there was controller support. First game I've seen with it so far.

It's a little hard to see when you're going to collide with something. It also took me a while to realize the candy was ammo. Also sometimes with the controller the end game screen wouldn't go away and I had to click on the Start Game button to make it disappear after the game had started again.

With some difficulty tweaks it'd be a fun little game.

Thank you for the feedback! Unfortunately, I didn't have the time for finetuning. And the bug you're describing is very interesting.

Anyway, I hope you still enjoyed playing it!

I was not expecting the "visual effect" at the end of a run - won't spoil it for anyone but I appreciate the effort to implement it.

Developer

Thank you :)

Good looking game, really liked the visual effect on run end.

Few comments:

  • It seems that TV can be larger and camera can be closer to the character. With the current setup it’s hard to see what’s going on in a game world.
  • There are tutorial texts, but as they are displayed at the same time when you have to dodge the monsters, plus everything is super small, they are mostly impossible to read. Guess it may be better to place just one enemy per 10 seconds while you are showing the tutorial texts.
  • It was not clear that I can move up and down, maybe there was a tutorial on this, but unfortunately, because of what is described above, I’ve missed it.

Have a lot of ratings and congratulation on the submission!

Thank you for the feedback. I would have loved to tweak the game more, but haven't had the time. Hope you had some fun anyway.

Surely I did!
