Great game with great physics :D It’s some much fun to yeet the snakes away. I also love that the snakes open their mouths when they are close to the egg.
In one level i cheated a little bit and threw the egg off screen. Somehow none of the snakes got there so i won XD Maybe add “did throw egg away” to the lose conditions of the game.
Really fun to play and also very pretty sprites. I also found a fun challenge to never actually grab any snakes during the level, and only trying to get the egg to safety with all the other stuff. ^^ (Though just whacking the egg as fast as you can seems to be a bit of an exploit)
This is a fun concept! I liked the art and approach here. I played on a laptop and found the throwing to be pretty challenging using the touchpad. I'd be curious to see how your game would play differently with adjustable difficulty to let it be more accessible for folks that want to play through to the end. Did you use IK for the snake bodies themselves? It looks cool, but I also noted sometimes that they'd be moving backwards unexpectedly.
In the process, I didn't think about the touchpad at all, I think I'll fix it. No, snakes don't use IK in the usual sense, there are no ready-made animations. The snake itself moves each part of the body with the necessary force and in the right direction, which gives us such an intermittent, funny movement, in our opinion. Although it contains a significant number of bugs;)
Thanks for the comment!
Seems like most levels I'd whack the egg off to the side, and then just be staring at the game doing nothing until the timer ran out. Also, being an egg I expected it to be.. I dunno.. fragile? I was a little afraid to whack it the first couple levels because I assumed it would break if it slammed onto the ground. That said, it was still a good time, physics based jank-em-ups are always fun! The music was nice enough but needs to loop a little smoother!
In builds, when the eggs rolled or flew off the screen, the player lost, but for tests, I apparently disabled this feature and forgot to bring it back in production xD
The idea of a fragile egg came to us, but we weren't sure how much it would complicate the game, so this feature was postponed.
Thanks for playing!
It's killing me the way these snakes move. It's fun to throw them away
