items spinnig over the hat are great, lot of fun :)

the concept for this game is quite fun, i like the idea of crafting different candies, but i think the movement is way too slow, i'm spending more time walking to somewhere than doing the actual gameplay, which was a bit frustrating. other than that good work on the game

The ghosts are so mean :D Great game and very cool idea for halloween, well done :)

One question, is the game intended to be very dark or is it just my (bad) screen? I could not even spot my character in the beginning so I started clicking around, trying to figure if it is point and click or WASD controls, until I figured it out.  In case it is general, my only suggestion would be to increase brightness a  tiny bit.

Looking forward to see more from you in the future!

Ive added play in browser support to Potion-Geist! the download version is still the best quality but if people just want to try the game without download , now you can.

Hey — I just played your game Potion‑Geist and I really loved the cozy candy-brewing setup combined with those sneaky ghost interruptions! The little touches like the “yay!” from customers and the glowing recipe signs gave it a charming character. One suggestion: I felt the ghost raids were a bit sudden and could use a bit more lead-in or visual warning, so players feel tense but still grounded.

If you’ve got a moment, I’d be thrilled if you could check out my game and drop a rating: /jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977

— thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 🎃

Really well fleshed out game for a game jam, great job! Really like the cosy atmosphere you've got here :)

Interesting concept! I wasn’t totally sure how everything worked first, but I like the idea and the style. Nice effort getting it done for the jam

Great work! The game looks amazing, and I really like the atmosphere. It gives off vibes similar to the game Overcooked, but more cozy and casual. I really like how you introduced the mechanics in a very light yet informative way.

Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t really understand how to make the candies correctly. Maybe you can tell me so I can revisit the game. I also felt like the game lacks some suspense. I liked that the ghost spawns every now and then trying to steal your ingredients, but I think the game could use more moments like that. A timer would also add a little bit of oomph and tension to the gameplay.

Another thing I noticed is that you can’t pick up the ingredients after you throw them. If this is intentional, making them disappear might improve the overall game feel and UX. Lastly, I didn’t really see how the theme or the twist was used in the game.

All that being said, you have a very strong base to build upon. I’m looking forward to seeing more of the game. Great work, fellow solo developer!

Thanks for the feedback. the candy recipes are shown on the signs when you unlock tier 2 and 3 buildings, after you make a tier 2 or 3 ingredient it should fill in the signs with that ingredient, the rest is trial and error guessing what the recipe makes.

i know the ingredients can get a bit buggy but you should be able to pick them up if they not placed inside anything. The theme was based around poltergeists and the act of haunting objects as for the trick twist it was: Ghosts can clean up failed candies and help you haunt stuff but sometimes they trick you and steal your ingredients.

Thanks for the feedback!

I hate that ghost stealing my stuff! A really nice idea, the pacing was quite slow for me though. The lighting and atmosphere was nice, I also liked the little "yays" by the customers. You can add different recipes, a timer to make candies, some abilities to repel ghosts... I can see this idea being developed further. Well done!

Yer the ghost balancing is a bit too unfair, it was way worse in testing haha, adding some ghost repel abilities is a great idea. there are about 10 ingredients and 10 candies in total, did you manage to unlock the other buildings?  i was a bit worried i didn't make the for-sale sign stand out, Thank you  for playing though!

I completely missed the for-sale sign! I might give your game another try later.

Cool idea and atmosphere — the concept works! The gameplay felt a bit slow, though; a point-and-click movement system might’ve fit the pace better than WASD. Loved the little touch with the ghost sneaking in to steal my stuff — that added personality.

Thanks for the ideas, a point and click system would have been an interesting idea. i would of like to make the game a bit faster but i felt players might have missed the building and recipe unlocks. Thanks for playing my game.
