If I weren't so burned out from rating dozens of submissions I would've written a 300-word essay on why this is one of the best games in this jam but. You'll just have to do with "it's peak" now, sorry
The music is great, the art is great, the characters are awesome
This is insane for a game jam. I’m going to be honest, I almost don’t believe this was done in a week, because it is incredible. The game kind of reminds me of a mix of Night Loops and Illusion Carnival. It is so surreal and has a lot of absurdist humor, yet it really does tell a nice story in the background as well.
The characters are all very fun. I wanted to talk to everything just to see what they would say. The game wasn’t that scary, but there were definitely dark moments and even some dark imagery at certain points. This felt like a full game I would actually pay for on Steam. It is honestly so good. This might be one of my favorite games in the entire jam.
Everything, for the most part, controlled fine. I didn’t really understand the sneeze ensemble, so I just left the room early. I’m not sure if you’re supposed to do that, but everything else felt very intuitive and incredibly fun.
The music is also great. The songs fit each moment perfectly. This game is a total vibe.
Thank you so much for playing our game! We’re so glad you enjoyed it!! And it was in fact done in a week, we just barely slept lmao. The sneezing ensemble part is meant to be like Simon Says, where you have to repeat the pattern they’re sneezing in, but yeah it has been a point of confusion for a lot of people, which we will tackle should we pursue this game further.
An abstract and very stylish game. The music and visual style have already impressed me. Every next screen, I didn't know what would happen next. I also liked the storytelling style. Great game!
I liked the eyeball part and the boss fight but i was missing button parts. it would be nice to have an indicator 2/8 buttons . I liked the game it felt i bit slow at the start but at the mid point it feels better.
Very very abstract game. One moment you are walking, then you are being squashed by hydraulic presses, chased by giant eyeballs and have to go MGS mode and before you know it you get sent to a black screen after viewing dialogue with the eagle bunny thing.
Pretty cool experience.
Easily some of the best story and music I've encountered in this jam! The art perfectly complimented the feel of this game. Outstanding work!
The art style of your game feels eerily unsettling in a good way! Especially that seal-looking creature (if that’s what it is). The story flows nicely from start to finish, but I’m not sure if this is a bug or intentional: the symbols ' and . in dialogue are sometimes replaced with 20 19 or 20 26. Is that a part of your game’s gimmick?
Also, during the conversation with the person wearing a wig, sometimes pressing Z once triggers two actions — like taking the wig along unintentionally.
yeah several people have mentioned the text bug, this only happens in the browser version for some reason.
as for the wig thing: that is simply the result of me being a bad programmer lol, i didnt really know how to separate the dialogue from the wig action because everything in this game is done with Z.
thank you for enjoying our messy buggy seal game!
