This place definitely is not going to pass the OSHA inspections...

No but, great fun little game! I think the architectural design here is definitely the highlight, the environments felt somehow naturally man-made(?), like a real building instead of just game set piece but still uncanny in it's elements. And I am not saying that just because those types of stairs give me anxiety, just look at them they are going to fall down any minute, I don't even think they were attached to walls. But for real, small details and additions to give more space and depth to the building like the small windows to see and double doors, good stuff. I did find the walk a bit humorous though, but in that morbid humor way, which I feel was somewhat intended too. Good respect for the sound design too, it was simple but I do think you managed to nail it good enough that I felt the immersion kicking in just walking on the metal-grate bridges and watching down to the what I assume were pools of something very hot lol

Very nice, also huge probs for having Unreal game which didn't instantly set my GPU on fire :) That is rare I tell you. Great work.

I'm so glad the performance wasn't an issue. I recently upgraded my GPU and knew from experience just how bad an Unreal game can be. I didn't actually use Lumen, which I feel is the main bottleneck for people, so lighting was partly baked and partly simulated using Unreal's older method.

It's interesting to hear your experience with the environment, not knowing the mess that it is when viewed from a level editor perspective, lol. I'm glad you liked it. The stairs probably weren't even attached to the walls at some points, to be honest; I remember fixing a few instances like that, where I just wasn't paying enough attention, lol.

I'm glad you liked the humor. I've always been a fan of how Portal 1 and 2 did a similar type of deadpan humor mixed with a bit of scifi horror.

I'm glad you enjoyed the walk. Thanks for playing.

And, shhhh, OSHA need not know.

The atmosphere and environment art here was some of the best I’ve seen. This is how you make a great walking simulator. My favorite part was the conveyor belt scene. The narrator was also an awesome touch. My only issue was the ending, the yell sound effect was a little goofy lol. Maybe it would be better if we were dropped into a huge pit of sawblades rather than them just being in front of us. I’d love to see this concept get developed further, great work!

Developer(+1)

Dropping would have made more sense, or maybe Mission Impossible style, the sawblades are above you, or something. To be honest, the ending was rushed. This was not originally meant to be a walking simulator, but partway through, I realized my puzzle mechanics were brutally dumb, and shifted towards a more atmospheric walking experience.

I'm glad you still enjoyed it. Thanks for playing.

I like how unsettling the room designs were like how after going up the stairs you can't see the hallway you just came from below you. It makes the facility feel like it's changing or alive. The whole experience reminded me of Amnesia a Machine for Pigs with the impossible scale and theming. There were a couple lines from the TTS I couldn't quite make out so you might want to add subtitles for sythesized voices like that but I think I still got all the important parts. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Dammit, subtitles would have been smart. I looked up Machine for Pigs now, it looks really cool, I might wanan try playing it. The inspiration, I suppose, is Portal 2's massive underground facility, but horror; from there, I made whatever I could muster, lol.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for playing.

I definitely got Portal 2 vibes as well! And to be fair, the subtitles are more of a future suggestion. It's hard enough to get a game together in such a short time, let alone adding anything not essential to the gameplay.

Your pixel art is beautiful, and the vibes are scary enough. Well done.

Thank you!

Great game! Walking through human resources gave me Abes odyssey vibes. I think you did a good job on the feeling too.

Developer

I'm glad you liked it, and great reference.

Loved the ambience and the pixel aesthetic textures.   For some reason was v. laggy in places.
