Game Title
Ame

Game Description / Instructions
Bloody Mary… Bloody Mary… Bloody Mary...

When darkness deepens and the past comes knocking— will you run or will you face it?

When 19-year-old Amelia Santos returns to Cebu after her parents’ tragic death in the States, she dreams of an idyllic life free of the burdens of the past and starting over as a clean slate. However, strange things begin to occur, and mysterious disappearances continue around her. What she previously thought to be a clean slate was already marred with grooves so deep that blood begins to seep and slowly stains her hands.

As the shadows lengthen, light your candles, and look into the mirror, you might yet see a whole new version of yourself.

HOW TO PLAY

Ame is a story-based horror game set in the Philippines in the early 2000s. It explores rural beliefs and religious images and the blurred lines between myths and truths. This game hopes to give players a lens into rural living in Cebu, filled with the nostalgia and creepiness that comes with it.

To play, just press START in the menu to proceed with my story. Pay attention to the dialogues, as they will hint on what you should do next. Press the LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys to move left and right, and hold SHIFT to move faster.

The objective is simple: explore and find clues as to what is going on with the town. You can explore more the left side of the road once your aunt says you're free to go. Interact with objects or other people, and you may earn some valuable information.

And remember, you win by staying alive and solving the mansion's mystery.

The game has more than one ending. There's no save point, so you can proceed with your next playthrough by reopening the game.

Goodluck, my friend :).

DEV LOG

This project was created by a team of students with no prior experience in game development. We gave our best, driven by passion, as the game jam offered us valuable time to learn and grow.

As our team have been formed, we have started our time to research and prototype our needed systems and mechanics before proceeding on our planned project.

Although our game didn’t fully meet our expectations or original plans, completing this project with passion remains a deeply satisfying accomplishment for us.

We truly hope you enjoyed playing our game!

dev member here, there's an option to explore outside once you visited the mansion in case if you aren't aware

Playing Ame felt like coming home to the province after years away . The quiet roads, the wind, the air heavy with memories you can’t quite name. The pixel art captured that familiar warmth, but there’s something haunting underneath it. An old nostalgic feeling when you just returned to your home province here in Cebu and you get to experience what it was like being a kid again.   It’s both comforting and unsettling, like walking through your old hometown and realizing how much has changed and how much hasn’t.

From a game play perspective, it’s simple but immersive. The pacing encourages to interact with the environment rather than being ignorant to it, which suits the tone perfectly. Also love how the horror aspect is integrated around the lore behind it, makes you really play the game a second time to find out what you missed on your first playthrough hahaha.
