awwww that cutscene was very wholesome 🙂↕️
the gameplay and UI could use a bit of polish though
Very nice! I unfortunately flopped very hard during the fight lol. This game is really nice, the main character is so cute and so sweet! Congrats on submission :)
Cool cutscene, and an interesting game. A bit of polish and this could be a really addictive little game. Most of my feedback is similar to what has been said by others... some type of tutorial to help explain the spell mechanics would be nice, and I'll be sending you my medical bills for the RSI form constantly clicking like that! But good entry to the jam, great work!
I really love the art of this and the intro scene was great!! It's super cute. Regrettably my mama did not make it. I found the repetitive clicking a bit rough, and I didn't even realise the spell building was a mechanic until looking at this comment section, so a tutorial could be helpful to give more pointers. Thanks for sharing your game!!
I enjoyed the game when it started to get fast. For the spell building maybe a shift click or control click on items to load them into the cauldron to match the speed of game. I felt dragging them slowed things down.
I didn't think much of it at first but I got into it really fast. I really like the spell-building mechanic, though I will say I would have liked it if there was an explanation of what to combine for an effect or another. I got two different spells that summoned guys, and a few large aoe ones, but in the heat of the moment I couldn't really figure out what ingredient made which effect.
Still, really solid concept, thank you for your game!
Glad you still liked the game! We did plan to include all the recipe combinations, but in the end it was way too much information at once for the player so we decided to shorten them down to 4 categories of ability types for each ingredient. In the crafting menu on the right side are the recipe combination types.
Yeah I noticed that, but admittedly it's not really super clear what wind or fire means in this context
Amazing game for a cat person (me xD). The visuals and music are amazing and alongside the gameplay, make for a challenging and charming game. You really did a great job with this!
Super cute cutscene I loved the idea of having to un-transform your owner! great job
Meow :)
Very cute and super addictive game! I was playing on a trackpad, which probably made it twice as hard, but it was still super fun! A hotkey for opening the spell menu would be awesome. I loved the art style of the intro cutscene! A little hard to follow but still very fun to watch. I was a little confused at first as to what all the spells did and how the ingrediants played into each other but after some trial and error you figure it out. Overall, excellent entry and job well done! Y'all should be proud :)
Very cute game! Was kind of stressful but I enjoyed it a lot. I loved the cutscene in the beginning and the ability to just meow was really cute. The gameplay itself was very fun and I liked that there were a set amount of waves. The only feedback I have is that I wish there was a more fulfilling ending - what happens to mama? But I know that the time constraints can do that to a game lol. Overall great job! Very enjoyable! meow :3
Nice game, really like the mechanics with all the different spells and the art is cute. Definitely wanna play this again with a mouse bc using a trackpad made this really hard, but yeah really cool submission!
oh lord very brave of you to play with a trackpad LOL, i'm sure the hotkey we were planning to add for the open/close inventory would've helped out a lot! thanks for the comment, glad you liked the spell system ✨✨

Nice work. The art style is funky and cool, I like it. I found the narrative of the cut scene a little hard to follow, but I got the gist of it. I clicked some bad guys to death and protected mama!
Cheers. Good luck with the jam!

Thanks for playing! First time including a cutscene for a game, so it was interesting to create. We tried going as simple as we could while still telling the story a little bit. I do however wish we spent a little more time fleshing out an storyboard for it to make it more defined. Glad you got it though!
dear d,
thank you for the comment,
before uploading, i showed my ma my cutscene, and she was baffled too LOL so you aren't alone in that feeling- if i had more time to improve it, I think I would either visually clarify the character intentions, OR maybe just add some narrator captions;
nonetheless, it's awesome you got the gist of the story, and I'm gladyou casted and spelled and spellcasted!
yee haw,

Heeheh, I like this name
Haha thank you! At some point the team kept saying "Meow Meow Meagic" it's kind of a tongue twister, but it's cute!
Yeey (p^o^)p
thank you it took all of my brainpower to come up with the title LOL!!
Ah! I made it all the way through the last wave. Fun little game. I enjoyed the opening cutscene and the enemy visuals. y'all came up with. I do wish it was a little easier to prepare spells as they turned out to be essential for being able to survive those later waves, and I found changing views to do so affected the pacing for me in a negative way. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
When you go into the crafting menu, the time slows down to allow you to return to a relatively same pace. The game is supposed to be quick. I do agree, the spell crafting could use improvement, but it overall works once you get the hang of it a little bit. Thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed most of it :)
omg i am thrilled u PLAYED throughall the waves!! this many sound inanae but iTS SO COOL ppl can experience an experience we make for people to experience...

and for the thoughtful feedback it is actually very very insightful, so thank you! one thing we didn't get to was a hotkey for the inventory, which i think may have made the rapid back'n'forth in the later waves a lot more bearable
and hehehehe glad u liked my cutscene and enemy visuals
enjoy this wonderfully image idrew for u, thanks for the comment!
Amazing! 😻
