Wow. The game fits the theme really well, the music sets a really amazing atmosphere and it's fun and creative all around. Gotta come back to finish all there is :)

I failed most of the time, i think im noob to platformers, but still was a great experience, Audio was good to the ambient aware of things and story.

Great mechanics to what was propose

Loved it, it's like Super Meat Boy meets Portal.

Only possible technical critique I could give, is to consider adding "Coyote Time" to the jumps. Other than that it is a  solid dang game.

I liked the monochrome colors and the puzzles are fun to figure out. Cool entry! :)

I'm not usually a fan of platformer games but the puzzle mechanic made this one really interesting. It was challenging enough so that some levels had me scratching my head a little bit, but it had just the right amount of difficulty for me to figure out the solutions without taking too long.

Really enjoyed the health decaying mechanic and thought the hints in the background were really neat! :)

Awesome work! I loved how much you got out of simple mechanics! A few VERY MINOR points/suggestions:

  • Speeding up regen after a second-ish would have been. Especially later on when at the end there was a lot of waiting to refill and speeding that up might have kept the pace a tad better
  • Similarly, I wonder about not doing a straight fade to black. Maybe the gray foreground faces a little slower.
  • Some coyote time (where jump is still counted a few frames after leaving a platform) would have been so nice! I’m guessing you used capsule collision (or sphere, rounded bottom either way) so getting right up to the end of a ledge was tough. Level 14 was soooo tough, easily 20+ tries to get the star. Last level was tough to but 14 was the real doozy.

Again, minor points, I had a great time with this!

Woah what an actualy amazing use of the theme, genuienely. This game is nothing short of amazing dude, I found some of the puzzles with the boxes kind of challenging, but overall it was still pretty good. The whole concept really reminded of "No, I'm Not A Human" (sun/light hurts meta), not sure if that's what you were inspired by, but regardless, congrats!

Hey thanks so much! Really means a lot to get feedback like this :)

Such a cool puzzle platformer! I am usually horrible at platformers but this felt like just the right mix of challenging and not too punishing when I messed up and I really enjoyed that.

The player character is so cute and I also really liked the visual style and the hints on the walls. I sometimes had problems jumping on and off things, I think the coyote jump being a bit more lenient would really help with that. But overall not a huge issue as I was able to complete all the levels.

Overall it was very fun to play! Amazing work

really enjoyed this game! everything comes together pretty well, i had no major complaints ^^ reminded me a lot of boxboy, a game on 3ds i quite loved :3

the music and story was very atmospheric and served the gameplay quite well, though i do think the gameboy graphics felt a little bit out of place with them ^^; the level design was great, neither so hard that it was frustrating nor so easy that it was boring. i had to think a little bit, which was nice. good work!

Interesting mechanic, fun puzzle design, the jump control is a little bit too strict for me tough.

I managed to beat all the levels and collect all the stars! This was genuinely a pleasure to play through, the level design was intelligent, the music and artwork combined to create a wonderfully melancholy atmosphere, and the light decay mechanic was something I'd never seen or thought of, but fits so perfectly into the theme. I'm also super impressed you managed to build so many levels considering it must have taken a lot of trial and error to get the puzzle designs just right. Well done!

Tryharding as much as possible so the little person doesn’t burn — it’s not much, but it’s honest work. Great game!

I really like your art style. Black and white - color of the world!
And also puzzle design is really good.
Well done

Developer

Thank you so much! This is my first time making entirely my own art, it's something I've been bad at for a long time but I'm trying to learn. So this compliment really means a lot to me :)

Wow, I loved this game! Very clever.

A question: is there a secret bonus after collecting all the stars? =)

Developer

Unfortunately not! This was on my wishlist but I just didn't find the time :(

Submitted(+1)

pretty fun overall, i liked the stars in each level and the words between each level, had to stop playing becuase of the screen dimming effect was giving me a migrane in conjunction to the bright white used everywhere

Developer (1 edit)

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that, I didn't consider that at all. As a question for a future accessibility update, do you think the game would work as well if I gave the option to disable the dimming effect?

Thanks so much for taking the time to play and leave a review :)

Submitted(+1)

yes actually, I don’t think the dimming effect majorly affects the main puzzles (its mostly timing puzzles anyways), so it seems like something that would work imo.

Cool concept for the theme and very nice level designs! The writing was beautiful, though a bit vague

Developer

Thanks so much! I'm not much of a writer but I'm trying to improve that part of my skillset, so that means a lot :)

I enjoyed my time with the game! I also enjoyed the use a monochrome pallete

Developer

Thanks so much :) I do enjoy monochrome! Especially since I'm colourblind haha. Thanks for playing!
