Congratulations on 3rd place, very well deserved!!!!
Thank you! This is very unexpected :D
meow, nyanyana, mamoma, anooo 😹
this game is something else; definitely one of my top picks for the jam... its just so lovely
Wow, I cannot believe I discovered this game just now, the cute little animations and the art style are amazing!!
Very well polished experience with every character having its own story, I had such a great time playing this =)
Very good game, appreciated how well it ran on my lower end laptop. Thoroughly enjoyed the little neighborhood, getting to know the characters in game was one of my favorite things in my playthrough. The attention to detail was also not missed! Great and strong submission :)
Really nice game, just very good all around, although for some reason the music didn't loop for me.
Thank you for the kind words! Yeah, the not looping music is present in Web version of the game.
Very well done, the gameplay is very simple and very well put. I really like the way some NPCs are moving and cars are honking, these make the game look very lively.
What an adorable little story! I really enjoyed this one. The art is beautiful, and it's a unique take on the theme. That agent guy and his UFO in the back are up to no good, I'm sure, but they gave me candy, so it's fine. Excellent entry and well done! Thanks for sharing it!
Wonderful art style, lots of charm and character. I especially laughed at "You'll learn lots of swear words one day"
The car SFX was a little bit of a drone, but impressed that you had the cars stop & honk the horn if you step out in front of them. The voice lines did get a little repetitive after a while, but I completely understand that there was a lot of dialog and different characters to have to "voice" in the timeframe of a game jam.
Good job overall. An enjoyable game for sure.
I agree that there are not that much voicelines than wanted. But the gibberish thing there is by design, I don't think that my bad english speaking would fit the game, LOL.
But I thank you for your notes and I'm happy that people enjoying the game.
"You've been kicked by an old man"
This game is very cute, I love the artstyle and it's very well written.
I liked the dialogues and music, though I did also get the bug of it not looping sadly.
My biggest complaint (but it's not a big deal) is that the voicelines get very repetitive quite fast, ideally one or two more, and more importantly, some slight pitch shifting would have made that less noticeable.
Still, very good game, I think one of the top ones I've played so far!
Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, when it came to recording voices I haven't much time left and I was in hurry. This is surprisingly a little more time consuming than expected. I agree that there should be more voicelines and the ones that are there already could be slightly more diverse. Anyway, glad that you enjoyed it!
Small tip since I saw you are working in godot, you can create an audio randomizer resource which can contain any number of audio samples, and you can give it a random pitch shift as well (I did something like 1.04 or 1.08 for mine), and just that does a lot. It's not necessarily the best for everything, but it helps in a pinch.
I actually did that. I guess I've just set a small pitch rate. It was about 1.1 or something.
Oh? I feel like I should have heard that in that case. Maybe I just didn't notice it.
THIS GAME IS SO CUTE!!! Oh my goodness the quests were simple but fun and the art is so cute! Fits the theme very well.
Excellent. Nearly a perfect score from me.
Such a great game. Cozy, fun, charming.
Good luck with the jam.
D
Very cute, some texts made me giggle
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it!
Wonderful work! The art is like a beautiful picture book and I loved all the silly and whimsical interactions. 'You have been kicked by an old man' had me cackling. The gibberish voice acting is so charming and was a great interpretation of the incomprehensible dialogues limitation. My only crits were that I got the glitch of the music not looping, and had some problems with the audio lagging/crackling a bit? Other than that, totally loved it, thank you for sharing your project!
We are really appreciate you liked it! We worked really hard on this one!
The bug with the music that not looped is driving me insane, because I don't really know what causes it, since I exported the game for each platform in one hit and haven't encountered it in published Windows build. Because of that I'm not really sure how to fix this, since I don't really know what exactly causes this problem. A Godot Web export? A Web browser incompability/bug? The only solution that comes to my mind is to re-export it to Web again. I'll check that once the jam ends.
About audio lagging/cracking - I haven't encountered that actually.
Anyway, I feel bad for that bug came in Web build, since it's most played one. It's kinda disappointing that a player experience is spoiled with that one, because the music is really sets the mood of the game. I'm glad that you could enjoy it inspite this problem.
Don't worry it didn't ruin the experience for me, the ambience was already really strong with all the artwork, sfx and character interactions. The audio cracking might have been an issue at my end because I think it happened after I minimised the window to do something else then opened it up again. Anyway regardless this has been one of my favourite games so far!
Certified banger. 5/5 on all fronts from me on this one. Beautiful art and nearly flawless execution. I almost died laughing when the last question on the pop quiz was revealed—finally, a question I actually knew the answer to! The only issue I saw was that Annie and Stu accidentally collided while traversing the town and then stayed stuck for the rest of my play through. Thanks for making and sharing your game. This is really special!
Thank you very much for these encouraging words! That means a lot to us! I even feel slightly guilty for not fixing that bug with Annie and Stu colliding, but in the end of the jam I felt kinda exausted to fix this in the latest minutes. Anyway, I really appreciate the feedback!
