Great job! Game has a really nice vibe with GBA style!

I love how much effort you put into tutorial, that is always challange to make it happen :D

I like how you combine light mechanic with survive, that make some kind of tension to look around for enemies. The looting make game more addictive when you just want one more room to check what is there.

Not sure but game has some vibe similar to arc riders, would play this kind of game in GBA style that really simply gameplay (you don't fight with camera in 3d perspective :D)

During gameplay I got some bug that freeze my character when was fighting and pressed loot accidentally, not sure what happened but maybe some state machine bug

Congratulations on your submission! *clap*

Wow! This game is incredible and feels like a full proper experience. I do wish the looting was slightly faster since you do so much of it. Maybe it's an upgrade like faster movement was, but the base speed could still be a bit higher IMO. An amazing submission either way!

Developer

Thanks for playing and commenting! It was indeed an upgrade, but I admittedly ran out of time before I could really playtest/gather feedback around those sorts of things, so I appreciate your feedback on the matter now it's definitely something I will take a look at.

Sick arcade game, I can tell you've done this before.

Developer

Thanks!!

Honestly, it is pretty impressive that you made this complex UI and inventory system in just one week.

Learning control seemed daunting at first but I liked how the tutorial part walked me through nicely. I also really liked the colour palette as well.

Well done, my friend!

Thanks for playing and your kind words!

Took me a bit to understand the gameloop but even after understanding it, I had a few issues:

- Sometimes two lootable objects would spawn next to each other and if I stood too close to both of them when looting, both of them would be looted. I'm not sure if I got loot from both of the objects or not.
- The enemy that flips a tile to shoot you was the single most frustrating enemy for me to deal with. A sfx when it flips a tile would help immensely. Most of my runs were ended because of that enemy alone and my last run that made me gave up had both that and a drone spawn at the same time which killed me upon entering a room with 2 health.
- This one isn't really an issue but unless I missed something I didn't really see the point of needing to wait for the extraction door to open up since we still have to move into the door to leave and nothing seems to happen while waiting.

Other than that, clean pixel art, nice upgrades, and clean movement. Roguelites are one of my favorite game genres. :)

Developer

Thanks so much for taking the time to play and provide such detailed feedback!

  • Definitely a bug, thanks for bringing attention to this!
  • I admit this enemy was rushed as time crunched on me so I could definitely understand the frustration, I will be sure to add more cues to it.
  • This is a bit of a half-baked idea that I didn't get to fully flesh out - when you call the extract, it draws any remaining enemies towards to the exit room. I had a bit of performance issues with it so I had to curtail it and I never really revisited it to make sure it worked well/was fun.

Thanks so much!

There's a bug when tutorial tips is on, that if you hit the switch before the tips tells you to do so you will get stuck, the tutorial will never progress.

Nice take, didn't expect a extraction shooter in game jam.

Developer

Good catch - I tried to patch as many "holes" as I could in the half baked tutorial but it seems I missed one! Thanks for playing!

I don't need Arc or Tarkov with this one! There is some bugs and unpolished moments, but I really enjoed your game. It's some new experience and feelings. Cool entry!

Developer

Haha, is it obvious I've been addicted to Arc recently? 😜 Thanks for playing and your comment! I do think I should have allocated more time to polish, but it was so hard to cut stuff!

An extraction shooter for a jam! I'm a sucker for roguelites and had quite a bit of fun with this one once I figured it out.

I agree with RedEft. The bullets could use more visibility. I died a couple of times for no apparent reason. I later found out it was bullets. If that was intentional difficulty, I think the death screen telling me what killed me or something like that would've softened the blow, so to speak :P

Thank you for the great submission!

Developer

I can definitely appreciate the lack of visibility for the bullet in hindsight, and it'll definitely be something I update post-jam. I like the idea of a death screen telling you what happened. Thanks for playing and your feedback!

I really liked the flashlight mechanic. I think if you change the music and the enemies this could be a really fun scifi-horror game.  Just an idea. Overall great job!

Developer

I definitely could see it working as a horror! Thanks for playing and the comment!

Lots of fun! I was only able to get out alive once lol!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it thanks for playing!

Enjoyable and well put together! The environment is really solid. My only suggestions would be to really make the bullets nice and large so they stand out, and to find a sound effect that gives them a nice oomph. Great work!

Developer

Thanks for playing and your feedback! I do wish I had allocated more time to finding/implementing sounds and I can see how the bullets are a little too small/subtle in the dark environment, thanks!

found a few bugs:

- cancel button in quit to menu's dialog box is not working

- can't use syringe as tutorial says, then stuck there

after turnoff the tutorial, the game plays very smooth.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and for your comment! I really appreciate the reports, I just fixed the tutorial issue as to not prevent people from progressing into the actual game, I very much appreciate it!
