Game Description
In the late 19th century, doctors, medical students, and anatomists suffered from a critical shortage of cadavers on which to practice their trade. They developed illegal and morally questionable relationships with "resurrection men"- body snatchers- desperate for the elusive payday. This game explores the chaotic morality of the Victorian era, and the nauseating reality of exhuming decaying corpses.
How does your game tie into the theme?
Corpses decay over time, affecting what body parts can be collected. Also explores themes of moral decay.

I really enjoyed the art and overall macabre tone of the game!! My wayfinding / sense of direction is terrible, so maybe a map or quest arrow could have helped? In games like these I find those very useful as I tend to get mixed up when I don't know my way around.
But besides that, I found this really cool! I have never played a game as a gravedigger so it was very interesting and definitely a first for me! Very fitting with the theme, and a bit spooky as well. Nice work with this one!
I dodged the already-identified bugs. I think we get 3 days. I spent all my money on tools; I'm having those teeth! I probably gave the Dr close to £1500 including what I had on me. I don't know if I won or not. "This house was not acquired through reprehensible means". In my 21st century mind there are worse things than grave robbers. Spending winter in a tool-shed would seem suicidal, given a choice. Squandered talent is also a sin, Matthew 25:14-30. These days we have clinical trials, and clinicians assistants to point our fingers at.
Having dodged the bugs this was one of the more "complete" games I've found in this jam. Admittedly the assets were prepared in advance, but so are bought, or open source assets.
I love the art. In general, and the way the UI doesn't need to limit itself to the resolution the game uses, is an inspiration.
The game play was original, probably the least painful use of the darkness theme.
A map or compas might be somehting nice to be added. I got lost in couple of rounds before i found the graves and then i was lost how to get back to the guy. I feel like I had also bugs while playing because I could not always press the spots where you can get the parts.
The aesthetic and amount of assets and polish is quite surprising! I did struggle a bit and got myself into the bugs that were already reported without realizing, but overall I think the atmosphere is pretty cool and the concept could be used further for a really nice horror game!
Good job!
Wow, very aesthetic! I love the story and gameplay, but I did get stuck searching a body when the day ended. Great work!
Really cool game. I love the vibe of the game and the art style fits perfectly. The gameplay loop of getting corpse parts and upgrading my tools was very satisfying, tho I kinda wish there was a "sell all" button. I ran into the bug someone else mentioned where you get locked in the body exhuming screen if the day ends while you're still focused on a corpse, but it was smooth sailing on my next run. I didn't manage to get enough cash to buy the house but I did upgrade all my tools and it was very satisfying to have them work way faster. Great job on the game, very cool!
Thank you! Yeah, I was still working on it right up until it was time to submit and I didn't give myself any time really to playtest, so I missed some big bugs.
Very clever use of theme and I love how macabre it is. Great job!
It' deep idea. Reminds me Graveyard keeper. And this is nice!
Huge compliment! Thank you!
I love this game! =)
Unfortunately, I got stuck on the “recovery” screen: at the end of the day, instead of returning to the usual house, I found myself back in the scene with the corpse… and there was no way out.
Very interesting and great vibes, anyway!
Last thing, even for me the font is difficult to read.
I was worried about that. Thank you! We’ll have to change it in the update
jajaja loved the theme!! Pretty scalable. First, I felt that everything was pretty polished so the player didn't have to struggle with the controls and the art is pretty tight. I've noticed only one "bad thing". There's A LOT of text. I know it have a story and everything, but maybe you can scale it up with other systems and another font.
Thanks for the game!
Thank you!
Wow, super original idea! I love the pixel art and the meaning behind the game. I could see this being developed further in a full release! I was a bit confused on the number that appeared next to the item to loot. At first I thought it was the level of tool required to get the item. That might be a cool mechanic to add later if y'all continue to work on it. Excellent entry, y'all should be proud!
It should be a dollar sign, but for some reason it didn't show up like that when we uploaded. We're going to have to figure that out. And thank you so much! We're going to try to make it into a full game, so your feedback is super helpful :)
Love the victorian aesthetic! This is such a cool idea, and it's very well executed. The gameplay is really fun, I could definitely see you being able to make a full game of this. Great work!
We hope to make full game! Thank you so much! :)
I really enjoyed this! (Which feels so wrong to say 😅)
The general gameplay loop was really interesting, although I hit a bug a few times where I couldn't search bodies because my torch wouldn't move?
The art is beautiful, you really nailed the atmosphere. Great work!
Gah! Thank you for telling us- we'll fix that when we update after the jam!
Fun gameplay loop! A very interesting story and theme too, I liked this a lot! Great job!
Thank you!!!
Wow, very FLESHED out idea :D would love to play full released game some day
We really hope to do that! We have a ton of ideas for it!
while it took some time to get used to, once i figured out how to upgrade my tools, the time management aspect became really fun :) definitely had to make a note to upgrade the shovel early on, it's quite slow otherwise :p
i sadly wasn't able to beat it, as 3 times in a row, the game would freeze and stop accepting my inputs. but i liked what i played!
Thank you for taking the time to play, and for the helpful feedback! We're going to have to fix that in the update! :)
Wow I am so impressed with this game! The pixel art is incredible and I think I would really enjoy playing the fully fleshed out version of this game. Great work!
Thank you so much! We are hoping to turn this into a full version game, for sure :)
