Are you guys planning on release a more flushed out game or was this the one off?

Developer

I don't know yet. Should we?

Submitted(+1)

I feel like you need a bigger sample size to gauge how more people feel about it. (this is just thoughts out of my head nothing based on facts)

Definitely the best game in this jam. A crazy amount of playtime for a game that was developed this fast, clever game design, the looks, the sound and the overall polish is exceptional! The difficulty curve is very good, wasn't too tough and for sure wasn't a walk in the park. Not sure about the camera movement during the dodge skill or the key bindings, but like cmon, it's basically a perfect jam game. Thank you for your efforts!

Thank you! Your feedback means a lot :))
Do you think the camera movement during the dodge was too jarring?

Here's a little secret 🤫: This game features adaptive difficulty. If you play well, some things become slightly more challenging to match your skills.

The adaptive difficulty definitely worked for me, as I didn't notice it, and I think overall I handled the game pretty well. :)

As for the camera, I'm just not sure. Is it supposed to add difficulty or is it for the sake of style? If it's the latter, I think it's fine. If it's the former, I just don't think it's the best way to increase difficulty, what I mean is there should be more suitable ways to do so. Take it with a grain of sault as I'm not that experienced and it's very subjective on my side.

It looks AMAZING, sounds great too, really unique combat, but not really my type of game because of the 3d dungeon crawling.

Submitted(+2)

The polish of this game is downright astounding - I believe it's the most meticulously crafted 3D game I've seen in this game jam. While the gameplay mechanics differ, its distinctly retro, desolate and hardcore aesthetic vividly reminds me of King's Field. The visual , SFX,  BGM and characters are all impeccably executed.

Creating something like this in seven days is truly remarkable, and I'll be eagerly following its future updates.

Developer

Thank you!
Reminding you of King's Field is a fantastic compliment ^^! We were aiming for those old-school vibes for this game

Update: If you are wondering how the game fits the theme, you have to escape the dungeon to see it more clearly.

...or you can see the "big reveal" at the end here (⚠️SPOILER!!!): https://ibb.co/pqFR3Qh
but, I suggest you get invested in beating the game so you can experience it properly.

All the game mechanics seem to fit pretty well together.

When you get the archer the dodge ability is so OP.

The game difficulty is pretty nice I could see this games as a full game with power ups and stuff.

I love the music and sound effects. Also the art is really good looking for a JAM game. The way you use dithering to give the illusions of shading is really nice.

I don't see how this game fits the theme at all.

Couldn't finish that starting section with 2 waves of 3 shield guys always got to the end of the hallway then died what looks like the last fight. Good game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!

It was the final fight. I just lowered the difficulty of the last battle since I noticed most players found it almost impossible to defeat the boss (I made it too difficult 😅). Hopefully, you'll find it easier to beat him now.

If you defeat the boss, you'll see how the game aligns with its theme, which, unfortunately, remains hidden for most of the gameplay T_T. The theme is mainly reflected in the lore, as you play from the perspective of the villains.

Wait, i played in your game for half a hour?.. Damn, guys, u have great a really good game. I very like art, music, sounds, narrative, fonts, animations, gameplay, mechanics. All this was done very efficiently. I assembled a team of 3 people (I started playing as an archer). The only thing I didn't like was the monotony. I didn't finish the game. In my opinion, it was worth doing less fighting... But in any case, the game is very cool. Thanks!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We aimed for 10 minutes of gameplay, but I think I got carried away 😅

Thanks for the feedback. I should have placed fewer enemies for the sake of the jam.

Submitted(+3)

The artstyle and the adaptive music is great!

I'm not skilled enough for this "skill-based" battle system...

Developer(+2)

Thanks! To make it more accessible, I may add a difficulty selector after the jam
IMO @ognomo nailed the sound design!

Very very polished game, with great graphics. I loved the combat timing mechanics, a huge achievement for being a game jam production. Congratulations!

Developer(+2)

Thanks! The combat mechanics (based on time and rhythm) are very experimental. Tbh, I was not sure they were going to be any fun
