You actually have a great idea in your hands! That was fun! Might I suggest a few things?

First, that artstyle I think it's better for vector art than for pixel art, it will make the game look a lot more smooth.

About the gameplay, the steps to store the box are a bit complicated, like I have to remember the key combinations to open, put the box and close, and by the time I do that, like 4 cubes go by. Maybe Up, Down and P are enough, I think shift complicates things and it also makes me lift my hands off the keyboard to switch from combination to combination since one should be on W and shift, another on P and another on the Up and Down arrow, so I have 3 hands positions and... just 2 hands unfortunately :-( Unless I stretch them in an uncomfortable way I'll be moving hands around and looking at the keyboard a lot. Also, maybe switch P for Enter or right Ctrl? so with one hand I can cover UP, DOWN and ENTER/INTRO/CTRL to store a box. No SHIFT key.

If you read the rest of the comments they're telling you roughly the same, the key combinations make it confusing and/or too hard.

Also, the list.. it's hard to read while you're frantically trying to hit and store boxes. Maybe a pause when adding a new item to the list will help. I mean, it's fair if I lose because I didn't memorize the items, but not because I didn't notice a new item just popped into the list while I was storing a box. Also visual queues on the list might help, like a little green box and a hammer, or a black box and an UP arrow... Not all of us have lightning fast reaction time, some players are faster, others are slower so you need to find a balance between both, otherwise it will get overwhelming at first for a lot of people.

The core mechanic is very fun and the animations are cool, I think you just have to tweak the gameplay to make it more fair, comfortable and fun  for everyone. But definitely (despite my observations) a great entry for the jam, good job!

I’m really glad you liked the game :) The pixel art is mostly because it’s faster for me, and I really like pixel art drawn with a 2x2 pixel brush :) Maybe next time I’ll try using vectors.

I understand all the comments about the difficulty. It was hard to control and balance it. The controls were designed to be a bit tangled so you’d have to twist your hands on the keyboard XD, kind of like a Twister with the keyboard, which was my main idea. That’s why the buttons are far apart, although my intention wasn’t for it to be impossible XD :)

Regarding the list, it was also something I had thought about, and it’s done on purpose that the only way to know what you have to do is by reading the list, so the game feels more overwhelming XD
But I understand that it’s more an issue of how I handled the difficulty and that I wasn’t able to balance it well enough for players who might have slower reflexes.
Still, thank you very much for the suggestions, and I’m glad you liked it :D

Fun and funny art style.  Game is too hard from the get go, though I like the idea.  :D

I’m glad you liked the game. With all the comments about the difficulty, I’ve already realized it’s the thing I handled the worst XD
Still, thanks for playing :)

Nice animation but it's quite hard. Good job!

Developer

I’m glad you liked the animations :)
I understand that it’s more difficult for some people.
Still, thank you very much for playing :D

The animation and art was so good!! I just found the button configuration a bit confusing. But maybe that was just me. That being said it was a very good concept, and I just have to say it again, THE ANIMATION WAS SO FUNNY AND PRETTY! Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing, I’m really glad you liked the animations so much :D

Regarding the button layout, my main idea was something like a Twister with the keyboard (yes, I repeat this a lot XD) which is why the buttons are so far apart. I wanted them to feel tangled but not impossible XD

Though I do understand that if the game were slower it would be more enjoyable for more people.

Still, thanks for playing :D

Made it to 24 seconds, but I couldn't keep it up for longer, it was simply too difficult! At some point after a while of trying to tie up my fingers like a bow tie to make it work, I set up a macro to move them closer together, and it was still too difficult. The animations and music and sound effects however were masterfully done, especially for such a short amount of time, its polish was far beyond what the time limit would suggest. Even if the difficulty curve needs a bit of an adjustment, at least for me, it was an enjoyable game! well done!

I’m glad you liked the graphics and the music :D
About the controls, my idea was to make something like Twister but with the keyboard, and that’s why the buttons are so far apart. Adjusting the difficulty was one of the hardest things.
Still, I’m glad you liked it :D

Very funny animations and a wild control scheme my fingers definitely turned into pretzels lol

Thank you very much for playing, I’m glad you liked the animations.
PS: Sorry about your fingers D:

Great animations, really good. The game concept is fun and engaging, in need of balancing, but I would definitely  love to see a future version. Amazing work.

Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked it. Balancing the game was one of the most complicated things, and I understand that some people might find it harder.
Still, thank you so much for playing :D

I love the goofy artstyle, the character looks awesome !

Also, props to you for making a proper in-game tutorial, I always slap a rushed 2 lines description after uploading my game because of bad time management, so I really respect you for this.

My problem with the game has already been mentionned in multiple comments, it is the akwardness of the controls.

But you seemed to have a concept in mind for this, so maybe its more of a difficulty balance issue, rather than a game design issue, because I can definitely see the "Twister with a keyboard" being a really fun experience.

Thank you so much, I’m glad you liked the art and that you understood the idea I had.
Balancing the controls and the difficulty was one of the most complicated things I had to do, because when you’re the one who made the game it feels much easier for you than for someone who has never touched it in their life.
Still, thank you very much, and I’m happy you liked it :D
