Upgrades & Updates

Items and/or Skills in your game can have modifiers and upgrades

Game Description
Awaken as a fading soul trapped in a realm of decay. Fight through waves of corrupt spirits in a fast-paced FPS roguelike and earn your second chance at life.

How does your game tie into the theme?
I interpreted “decay” as a soul slowly deteriorating, losing more and more of itself as it fights to survive.

Felt like I was playing an aim trainer by the end haha, great job! Nice roguelike feeling, and really great art and atmosphere. Congrats on your entry!

Nice work! I could copy/paste Anonymyst’s comment and totally get your response. Additionally, when close to the items, it locked your camera in so was hard to read about the upgrades. It also was a few rounds before I realized my currency, the numbers were really dark. It was cool seeing all the upgrades stacked on the wall, but some, like the lighting and shockwave only had sound fx? Still, having any feedback at all is critical so good job!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! I’ll keep it in mind for the future!

Fun 3d shooter game. The shop and upgrades was an excellent touch. The sound and music were great as was the graphics, really liked the animation of the skull talking at the beginning, if you had more time and lined up the movements with the sound it would have been super impressive.

Only gripe is the difficulty seemed to ramp up a little too fast and the gun shot too slow, but better that than endless too easy.

Thanks for submitting, it was fun!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words!

The difficulty was planned exactly as you said. I felt like a faster ramp would make it more enjoyable for a quick impression. In a real publish i  would have made it slower. Thank you very much!

nice stressing doom vibes, it gave me anxiety  when the skulls got close hahaha,  I'm not a big fan of this genre but  the shop is a really nice touch with really nice upgrades, it made me play a little longer :)

Developer

Thanks for giving it a try even though it’s not your genre!

It's a simple concept but quite addictive!

I had some issues with the controls but it might just be because it's a first person web game, for some reason those always give me some problems with the aim.

I like the voice acting, and I fell like this could be a pretty interesting simple rogue-like with some DNA from Buckshot Roulette and games like that.

Thank you for playing! I produced the web build very hastily, and it works much better as a Windows export. I should’ve uploaded both in hindsight!

Simple but effective! I liked the power ups, and the shooting was very satisfying. With some polish I think this could be a really nice and punchy game.

Good job!

Developer

Thank you very much, im glad it was fun!

a nice play on a shooter! one thing that would be nice for a game like this is a mouse sens slider

Developer

Thank you for playing! You can find a mouse sensitivity slider in the settings menu, under Controls :)

This was also being weird when I tried to load but when it finally worked it was really fun I played multiple rounds and I like the concept for the randomly rotating shop and the art is really fun

Developer

I couldnt find much for why this is happening, but im glad it worked for you in the end!

Thank you for playing!

I unfortunately couldn't play. Every time I loaded I got the following error: Aborted(Stack overflow! Stack cookie has been overwritten at 0x0053fe80, expected hex dwords 0x89BACDFE and 0x2135467, but received 0x3d2dac4c 0x3d462c59).

Developer

Oh no thats so sad.

Have you tried clearing your cache or changing your browser? These have been helpful to me before!

Thank you anyways for trying to play :)

I originally tried on opera gx and then chrome. Same issue multiple times. I didn’t actually try clearing my cache. When I’m back on my pc hopefully I’ll remember to give that a try.

Very simple, very reasonable. Really liked the fact that you used the shooting sequences as a seamless way to refresh shops in the background. Well executed, compact little game. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you for playing! More free rerolls = more money = more item for the player = more fun! :)

Wow, this is great! This is a simple concept that is so well executed! I really like the atmosphere too, and stacking the power ups feels great as well. Nicely done!

Developer

Thank you for enjoying it!

Super original take on the theme! I liked getting all those upgrades though I wish I had gotten the shockwave one, that seems like it would have saved me several times. And congrats on making a 3D game, you don't see many of those. And voice work! I've never played a game jam game with actual dialog. Well done! Super cool entry :)

Developer

Thank your very much!

Great idea, it’s fun to shoot skull-shaped souls! =)
