The bar is way too fast/the penalty  for wrong button is too much XD the game is simple but quite hard i need to be focus but quick but the shaking visual, the out of breath audio and the bar going red makes me panic XD  A good gameplay and cool art. Well done!

Simple but fun gameplay. It took me a while to figure out the "Home row", but other than that, I had fun pushing keys fast :)

I gotta say, that the sound was used really well- the breathing really sold the increasing tension, and the music was properly spooky! The graphics was ok. I liked the slowly appearing monster.

The atmosphere worked, but some additions would improve it even more. A "horror sting" when the monster appears, maybe some screen effect (like film grain)?

One more thing- this game is HARD. Unless being jumped by the monster counts as an ending I couldn't finish it. Never made it to 3 AM!

Over all- good game, especially for one created in just four days, and in a new engine!

Developer

thank you lots! will definitely dial down the difficulty and yes, the monster jumpscare is considered an ending so congrats lol

Really interesting concept and implementation, well done! The art is beautiful and really adds to the creepy atmosphere almost like Disco elysium vibes! The menu screen was great - very responsive with the UI and gave a really polished look. A few suggestions i have that might help improve on this - 1. The gameplay was a bit lacking i felt and you could add some more variety to make it more interesting like clicking on various things in the room with the mouse or dragging something from somewhere to somewhere in the room. This will also feel organic to the theme and add some variety. 2. The game is a bit unforgiving at the moment, you could make it easier by penalizing the player lesser on missed actions or wrong actions or reduce the time between actions atleast initially, and then speed up. This would also give the player some leeway to get used to the concept. 3. Maybe some feedback on if a key was missed - something like a flashing or an error sound could help since its difficult to look at the meter on the left when youre looking at the keyboard pressing buttons :D 4. Voice over for the instructions? I dont know you could try it out, since the player is looking at the keyboard, a voice telling him what to do could also add to the vibe.

Overall though this is a great entry and the fact that you did it in 4 days in a totally new engine is quite impressive! Well done :)

I’d say the theme was quite peculiar and very interesting—it actually reminded me of the time I had sleep paralysis and man… the feeling really is awful haha.

The artwork is spectacular. I really liked the blue tone you used for everything; it fits perfectly with dark, nighttime moods and adds a heavy feeling to the atmosphere, which definitely matches the intended horror. The apparitions also stood out well, with an interesting variety of anomalies happening around us.

However, I felt that the game’s difficulty is quite high right from the start. I’m not necessarily referring to the buttons we have to press based on the text instructions (since most of it is pretty clear), but rather the speed at which we need to switch from one place to another. Sometimes the distance is too big, and that becomes a bit confusing, and the transitions are almost instantaneous, so we have to adapt very quickly.

I believe a small delay between pressing one button and the next would be enough to reduce the steep difficulty curve the game currently has. Additionally, a success sound effect would help players reinforce which buttons to press and when.

An interesting mechanic to add could be some sort of “focus” system. While the player is experiencing sleep paralysis, there could be moments where they close their eyes to try to calm down, reducing their anxiety level. But this would come with disadvantages, such as not being able to see which key they need to press (meaning they’d have to read it before closing their eyes) and also not seeing how much time is left until the next key appears after successfully pressing one.

It’s a very unique and intriguing concept—I really enjoyed it, and it’s amazing that you managed to make this on your first time using Godot. It’s a clear sign that you adapt well, and with more practice, you can create even better games with this engine.

Congratulations on the game, and I wish you good luck in the jam!

P.S.: The Easter Egg is also really cool—basically the opposite of the game’s mood, since it has a comedic touch.

Developer

thank you so much! and yeah, it was quite difficult even for me especially since I just got a headache from playtesting my own game so many times. I'll definitely take in the feedback,  and thanks for the support :D

Omg this art is beautiful spooky art

, but it is kinda confusing like when you says press A num i though i have to press A not a number make the letter a not capital

and make it abit easier the num goes high too fast

and I dont know what is the left hand or right hand letter so give a quick tot or make it more simpilar like press this in a row A G R > < / smth like that would be easier

but cool game i liked the idea :)

Developer(+1)

thank you :) left hand is just left side of the keyboard, right hand = right side of keyboard! thanks for feedback :D

Very cool concept, I love spooky vibes hehe

The visuals are great, fits perfectly with what you're going for. Tho I feel its way too hard, I never really made it far. I also didn't know some of the stuff like what a home row letter is >->

Great job on the submission! I'd love to see more with that type of art direction :]

Developer
