Game description
La Ola
An Endless Runner Typing Game!
Type words as fast as you can and try to get a leaderboard high score!
Press the keys matching the letters on the signs held up by the crowd to move the Mexican wave.
You may encounter sleeping people in the crowd - do your best and guess what letter they are holding using the rest of the letters in the crowd.
Don't take too long typing, or you'll lose!
Theme interpretation
The game is an endless runner where you try to keep a mexican WAVE going for as long as possible :)

Really polished and creative interpretation of the theme, very cool of you guys to add a leaderboard (Got to 31st so yay). Implementing a Markov chain for this was definitely good to prevent people from just learning the text order and get higher scores with that and keeps the challenge fresh, good job!
PS. I didn’t know La ola was known outside of Mexico as a Mexican wave, I guess I thought for every other country was just a regular wave, but it’s kinda cool we get the credit for it.
I really enjoyed this game! It had a great aesthetic, music, pacing... like kryione said in an earlier comment, the only thing that I wish was that I could see a bit more of the words as I was typing. I'm not quite sure how you would do this and keep the amazing aesthetic you have, but maybe if the words scrolled vertically it may help? I'm really not sure on this one but I genuinely loved your game. Saved and coming back to play again later! Good luck in the game jam!

One of the best so far! Nice take on the classic typing game and making it into a crowd doing a wave, very entertaining. Gets difficult fast but the challenge is welcome. I can definitely see myself playing this for hours. My only comment is I wished I could see the more future words in advance so I can read before I type and so that capitalized letters can be differentiated better. Overall great game!

This was a cool typing game! Since English isn't my native language, I don't type in English very often, but thanks to this game, I feel like my English typing skills have improved a bit, haha.
Like others have mentioned, having to type spaces was a bit confusing, and I wish there were more sound effects, but overall I thought the presentation was excellent. Great job!
This is a very unique and fun way to interpret the theme! And the gameplay is really fun too!
The one problem I had was that because I had no idea that you had to push space inbetween words, I thought I had a browser issue or something. I had to check the comments to understand how it works, but once I got it down it was really enjoyable! Pretty good entry!

Honestly one of the better typing games I've played in general. I could totally see myself getting addicted to this as a kid, like this web game would have been gold when we had computer time in class. Love the charm, the leaderboard, and the polish. Good job!
I like the game its addicating
Really amazing and addictive game with a simple premise that gets squeezed for all its worth, the presentation works well and the music is enjoyable enough (even though I can see it becoming grating to some). Its a real winner of a fun, short and replayable game, really hard to master, but i'll keep trying to get a better score!

I recently learned fast typing and always search for typing games. So when the random queue hit me with a typing game I was dumbfounded xD
I like a lot about this game, but the best part is probably how everything works together. The sports theme of the text combined with "La Ola" and the wave stopping where you type :D
My feedback would be, that I was missing the whitespaces. I got confused multiple times becauseI lost track of where I was when I had to type a whitespace. It was also a bit difficult that the screen was scrolling and that I had to read while it moved, but at least I didn't get punished for typing the wrong key :)
Sometimes two letters in the same word were hidden and I couldn't guess it from context anymore :(
Also the size of the game didn't increase when I went fullscreen in browser :(

I had similar issues when testing the game but we didn't have time to fix them, if we decide to keep working on the game post-jam we'll take you feedback into account :)
super creative game!! i love the interpretation of the theme, and everything works as intended. It gets hard quick, but it does challenge my typing skills! I think having fewer proper nouns might help with the confusion from seeing blank words a little bit, but thats only a minor thing. Great job!
