A solid game! I like the gameplay and the idea a lot.
Thank you! Glad you liked it! c:
A solid game having a lot of potential! The background music was a nice touch! It really fits the game. The driving controls are smooth as well!
Thanks a lot! Glad you enjoyed it! c:
Great entry. An interesting take on the theme. I read the discription so no difficulty in understanding the mechanics of the game. I did however dig up three purple crystals and did not know how to 'collect' them. I feel I won the game. Overall a solid effort and a good "A game about digging a hole" clone.
Thank you! I updated the description according to the feedback I got from the other comments, so good to know its a little bit more clear now.
The crystals are automatically collected after you dig them! A few seconds after digging the third one a message should have shown saying you won ;D
Lots of potential here. Looks great and feels great to control. Couldn't help noticing that others have similar feelings about the lack of direction. I think if there was a CLEAR goal in this game (like collecting all treasures, UI to show how many more you needed, a feeling of start leading to a finish) then I would definitely have wanted to stick around to the end. As it was after 5 minutes or so of finding water, and finding one jewel, I realised I didn't know what was expected of me so I stopped. But it is a cool game world and needs very little work to make it a great game to play.
Thank you for your comment!
Being 100% honest, when coming up with the concept of the game I focused on the mechanics more than the objective, and I guess that shows XD
Thinking about it, not putting a treasure counter UI was very silly of me :c
Nice little entry! Looks very good, and a shockingly function packedmenu! Good work. Regarding the gameplay: I think it's fun, and I think controlling the vehicle is fun, which is very important for a game like this, the game loop and the idea is good, however as others mentioned: at first is wasn't exactly clear what should I be doing, I almost gave up. I know game jams are so limited, and I also always struggle with adding a good tutorial, but here I think it would add a lot.
Nice work!
Thank you for the feedback! I had planned to show hint messages on the UI but didn't add them in the end. Big mistake xd
Next time I'll make sure to add some kind of tutorial!
Interesting take on the theme! Everything fit together :) The robot/rover looks very original too!
I sadly only found water before I gave up x) I wasn’t sure if the blue dig markers indicated water, or if they could be treasures too. Anyway, this uncertainty of what I was supposed to be doing as a player was a bit frustrating.
Thanks a lot for the feedback!
The blue dig markers are always water, the treasure ones are a different color. Since the treasures are more difficult to find, I guess you're more likely to see only blue markers if you're not lucky. I should've make it clear somehow that the treasure spots were different :c
Very good play with this game! The theme interpretation is very interesting. The user experience with the game UI is also cool! Thank you for the experience!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! c:
The menu presentation is fantastic! Unfortunately, I couldn't test the gameplay as the controls weren't responsive for me.
I'm sorry you had that problem :c
It's very weird though... You could try remapping the controls on the settings! Also you can play with either keyboard or controller!
Nice game! I like the theme interpretation; it is definitely unique to most of the games I have seen so far. Staying safe from the heatwave and managing the water supply was a good concept.
Thank you so much! Heatwave was the only theme interpretation I could come up with that was not already in the suggestions of the jam page lol
