Step into Release Ops. Review PRs, hold the line on stability, and try not to get fired
Theme interpretation
Waves of pull requests:
The core loop is literally being hit by waves of PRs during a 9–5 workday. Early in the day it’s calm, then the queue spikes in bursts (waves) that you have to survive by reviewing fast and accurately.

Stellar job. But it's fucking tough. I do this day to day and got fired quickly. I want a java pro on stream to play this. Would pay!
Haha, this was really cool—congrats on finishing it on time!

This is a clever spin on the papers please genre. Nice work! Though I find this to be incredibly challenging, and I’m a full time software developer :P
Great work, continue to grow and improve yourself!
This is a really excellent interpretation of the theme, especially considering GitHub is hosting it! This game is really tough, but you give great feedback on the game over screen about what you did wrong. Not every game can be for everyone and I feel like non-programmers would really struggle with this game especially since it lacks a tutorial, but the result is a really stressful and familiar experience for those who get it. Being able to choose a language your familiar with is also a really great touch.
I think my biggest piece of feedback is the game needs a tutorial where the player can learn to play without being put on a time crunch. Maybe a training day! Also some corporate approved music would go a long way.
Awesome job!
Thank you!! I've working on it from time to time and I've added a Tutorial, a 'Learning Mode' (easy mode) and a Leaderboard. The idea of having corporate music is really good!! I'm going to look into that.
Haha, excellent idea, if quite stressful! Also fascinating UI design, really loved it.
I obviously see the effort and well handled UI/UX form handling but sadly I don't find approving PR's a fun/game for me to play. It was a bit fast and overwhelming. I would not want to be a full time PR reviewer no matter what they would pay me. I'll take a look at your GitHub and submit my own PR !!-- lol, just kidding.
I looked at your source code and very informative GitHub README. It was nice to see you took the time to put that README there and looking at your structure and clean .TS code reminds me that I should probably write better code and not just hack through these game jams! Well done overall and applaud your clean structure, use of TS and submission of a README in your GitHub repo -- if done all for this jam, even more kudo's to you.
I updated the game recently with a tutorial and lowering the difficulty a bit. You can play it on the website: https://approve-please.amllamojha.com/
When work comes for you)) Well done, cool game
thank you <3
I loved the gamification of PR approvals. It is a bit overwhelming with all the information as soon as the game starts. But with few tweaks this could be a very fun way to learn and become a better at PR approvals.
I think that this game has showed me that I am not supposed to be a Pull Request approver lol. This was a very creative interpretation of the theme and fit very well with the fact that Github is the one that has hosted this game jam. Unfortunately, I don't even think that I made it past the first day but I had fun getting fired! Very polished experience with all of the animations and sound effects. Great job and good luck on the rest of the game jam!
Fun game! I really like the style and the idea. Also the sound effects are just right. Just don’t have enough time with the PRs and lost very soon.
Thank you!! Balancing the difficulty is really hard hahaha I'll try to make it more progresive next time.
Thanks for intensifying my imposter syndrome LOL
