Game description
An action platformer where you must defeat all the enemies to beat the levels. You have access to sword attacks and gun attacks, and the damage for each type of attack changes over time.
Theme interpretation
Weapon damage is connected to a bar that oscillates (kind of like waves) over time. If the bar is mostly blue, sword attacks deal damage. If it is mostly red, gun attacks deal damage. The more a color covers the bar, the stronger those attacks are.

What an interesting idea, very unique.
My only criticism would be that there are lots of keys to remember, and I’m not sure the powerful versions of the attacks add anything to the game. A tutorial / onboarding process to introduce us to the mechanics would have been appreciated.
Loved the art style and the music was solid. Overall a very unique take with an interesting execution. Well done!
Took me a little to figure out, still didn't figure out the wall jumping, but I'll jump in again and give it a try ( I didn't read the instructions but did see the next post that mentions wall jumping ). A solid game, like the custom character animation and dashing. Like that the enemies also shoot at you but will have to figure out more about how to attack back and wall jump as I didn't make it past the 1st level on my just 'jump in and try it' attempt.
Yikes, that's a lot of keys to try, but here I go. J I K U L H W A S D Shift Escape ... etc, all good, game on!
Yeah that's a lot of keys! Also, just noticed the long hold on space for high jump -- appreciate your features and game play, but I truly suck at this game. Perhaps I'll see if you have keyboard key binding settings so I can adjust the keys used to something that might suit me. If you don't have that yet, consider adding it if you continue to develop this one. I'd like to use the arrow keys, shift and control, perhaps Q W E for shoot knife and attacks, etc.
The controls felt tight, nice work!
I got to level 7 without the bar changing at all from full blue.
The music and sounds were very good!
I recommend a hint about wall jumping for the first level.
Thanks for playing! Was the bar glitched, or were you just really fast?
Pretty sure it was glitched, I'm pretty bad at platformers
That's weird, I've never seen the bar just get stuck. I'm guessing it may have been a compatibility issue with your PC or browser. I'm not sure what else it could be. Maybe it was an issue with my code, but the code for moving the bar is so simple that I can't imagine that I would never have seen this glitch.
I'm on Firefox, here's a video:
That's so weird! The bar is supposed to go back and forth between red and blue. Also, it seems like you are in hitstun for way longer than you are supposed to be. What kind of PC are you using? A different one may work better
I think that might be it, I'm on Windows 11, but I ran it on my Macbook and the bar was working fine!
Funnily enough, I was actually expecting the exact opposite of that. I remember seeing some older versions of godot 4 had issues with web exports on Mac, so I assumed some of the issues were still there and you were playing on Mac. It's weird that it worked on Mac but not windows. Either way, thanks for helping me figure out what the problem was!
I liked the vibe and music, the little dash animation was cute. You prolly should make the attack bar change faster, and make it that melee enemies don't just stay on the side of their plateform targetting the nearby player but unable to do anything aside from being an obstacle.
GG
Quite an enjoyable little platformer!
I liked how fleshed out the game felt like, you've got some proper level design going on and the platforming felt nice. The fighting was a bit confusing at first, especially with the heavier attacks and it took a while to get a hang of it.
There was a decent enough amount of content to keep me occupied for a good 15 minutes, which is quite well done for a gamejam game!
Thanks for making this game :)
Indeed, a tutorial would greatly help this game. But this game was the one that I had the most fun with so far. I really enjoy the music and retro-like SFX, and the movement of the player. I wish the enemies were less tanky, but aside from that, the combat is pretty solid. Maybe if you implemented the combat with mouse input instead of keys (like the light attack and heavy attack, for example), it’d make it a lot more intuitive. Overall, a great game, I really like it.
The overall experience feels quite confusing at first, but the game shows some really interesting ideas!
Very good, got a bit confused by gameplay but eventually locked in, i like the color choices u made with this game and the way it works is pretty smartt !!!
Wow, very stressful but fun! The idea was very very creative, however everything was a bit confusing, and a proper tutorial would have helped. We think the game idea has a lot of potential but the execution, such as enemy placements, graphics and the controls could be a bit better. Best of luck! Also the music is a banger.
I'm bad in this game, but the game is good
Had my fun but sadly I am to weak for this game
fun and captivating
