Really liked this game. A lot of people in these reviews wished that there was more to this game. To me, that's kind of the entire point, not just in that this is a submission to the 20 second game jam, but also in its commentary on our capitalist society. The core twist of this game is that the "package" being delivered is a double entendre towards a nuclear payload. With the name of the submission being "FAST DELIVERY", pumpkingkitty criticises modern society's obsession with convenience and efficiency by cynically comparing the "FAST" delivery of the player's package with the quickness in which the nuclear bomb destroyed the world. Pumpkingkitty argues that modern society's infatuation with achieving this efficiency comes at the cost of its humanity; the catharsis of the game comes at the very end, when the text "Package Delivered" flashes cryptically on the screen. This suggests that modern society's obsession in achieving this arbitrary end efficiently corrupts its means in doing so, to catastrophic effect.
The game also left me feeling empty and yearning for more, which is a sentiment shared by many in this comment section. To me, this is a core feature of this game; the player is a confined to a small yard, with nothing to do but walk around with a package, helpless against the true "package" that was being delivered. Here, pumkingkitty scrutinises the value of consumerism in the face of the absurdist prospect of death, as characterised by the nuclear bomb. Pumpkingkitty uses the nuclear bomb to put our modern society into perspective, not just with the fleetingness of consumerism, but also the agency that it takes away from us, with the player meeting their end confined in an undignified square box designated by the capitalist system.
Beyond the slight irony of this comment, I genuinely found this game quite profound, and deserving of a 30 minute video analysis at the very least. This game had an emotional residue with me that had me thinking about it for a couple of days. Though many would find "FAST DELIVERY" jarring for its lack of 'game-like' elements, I think that what pumpkingkitty and their team have made here dwells well in the realm of artwork, the sort of thing that might get displayed in a gallery if one day video games were to gain more respect as a medium. Nice job.
Wow, that's cool:) I also had an idea to make a game about war, not exactly like this one, but I like it. Very dark. Cool aesthetic. I love these kinds of narrative games:3
I always love a classic PS1 style game, and this absolutely delivered (no pun intended). I was genuinely invested to the point I forgot the game was supposed to be 20 seconds. I was sucked in. Awesome job! :)
It looks nice, but it is not very fun. I'm all for "experience" type games, but this just seemed pointless. It didn't made me think about anything, it was just loud and hurt my ears. I also think it's shady to release a game for 1 dollar and then just have it on 100% sale. Why? Jam games are supposed to be for fun and learning.
Hi kaiakairos, as I wrote on the game page, this game is based on a dream/nightmare I had, and just as things may not make sense in dreams, this game is the same. And although it may seem meaningless or even pointless, for me it was a lot of fun and challenging to try to recreate this dream/nightmare, even though I don't remember it very well and had to adapt things to fit better as a game.
As for the “price” of the game, I put the game on sale because of the Black Friday event, in an attempt to give the game better visibility, since, as you probably know, the most important thing for an unknown developer is visibility. Now that Black Friday is over, the game is free (as it always has been) but without the 100% discount.
As for the loud sound, I can only apologize. My headphones are very low, and I forgot about that detail, so to me, the audio wasn't that loud.
Even though it's not very fun, I'm very proud of this game.

classic reminder why i never pick up packages that i have ordered! (really enjoyed the little sound design elements in this hehe)
Nice, played a few times, and I really enjoyed it!
Also, are those screams new? I played this a week or so ago and I don’t remember them
Oh man how am I supposed to enjoy my "1:1 Replicate Rock Statue" NOW!?

Never saw what was in the package :(
Nice and scary :)
Powerful
oh hey my delivery is here, whats that sou- dies
really fun short game, if you made a longer version i feel like markimoo would play it
I did NOT order that package!!! I love the vibe, and the fact it was based on a real dream makes it even creepier
maybe it was delivered to the wrong address💀
I'm glad you liked it, thank you. ;)

If you make a game like that, I would like to play it. It must be interesting.
thanks for playing =)
Strange dream equals strange game, reminds me a bit of LSD: Dream Emulator of PS1. Thanks for sharing a strange experience.
I had never heard of this game, but I looked it up and it seems pretty crazy and different. I kind of liked it.
Thank you for playing.

I also love PS1-style games!
I'm glad you felt that way while playing.
Thanks for playing!! ;)
Yo yo yo, this game is awesome, the visuals (I'm a fan of these PS1 style games), feels like a really short (and horror) Outer Wilds. Great Job.
hey yo, thanks!
i'm glad you like it =)

And thank you for testing it.
I wish there was more to do in this. I played through on the rewind and couldn't really interact with anything: maybe I missed something?
The VFX and graphics are cool.
Honestly, I also wanted to add more stuff, maybe multiple endings, but I couldn't think of anything that would fit and be cool for the game.
Oh, and the “rewind” option is for when the player couldn't get the package in time.
Thank you for playing 🎃
Such a cool concept. I really like the twist of what the "package" really is. Nice work!
thank you! =)
