The games idea was very cool in concept but i was really struggling to move. the saws didnt feel like much of a threat but that made collecting more fun. i was a bit confused on why the hearts kept disappearing but it was fine. there was no game over so i was kind of stuck. i would say a 6/10 game, could use improvements
The game was fairly fun! It did feel a little stuttery and there was no end, unless its meant to be endless. Otherwise its fun! Only other little suggestion would be make the sprites have theme, so maybe instead of saw's, make them enemy's of vikings.
When I first started the game, I was enthralled in the gameplay. It held my focus for as long as I could live, determined to prevent the timer from hitting zero. When I lost on my first attempt, I ended up collecting a heart at the last moment, glitching out the game as the player was unable to move but the game itself wouldn't progress to the death screen.
Pros:
- Well Paced.
- Energetic gameplay that doesn't rush you or drag you along.
Cons:
- Player animations need improvement
- collecting a heart when the timer reaches zero breaks the game.
As soon as I saw your app's cover image, I immediately knew that tileset pack - I actually used the same for one of our earlier projects. It's a great pack and it looks really good with your game. It's a great game concept - it made me wish there was a win condition of some kind. Maybe if you expanded it you could set level conditions of outlasting a certain amount of time or changing it up a bit to collect a certain amount of hearts within a set time period. I did notice I only saw one of the saw blades once in the three times I played the game; more saws might add a little more challenge. I liked the animations and stuff as well. Nice job!
I like the concept behind the game, and overall, it's a very fun game. But there are a few things that make the game feel a little unpolished in some respects. Firstly, the main obstacle in the game, the saws, aren't much of a threat if you just look out for them. I think adding something else to keep the player on their toes would help make the game more challenging. Secondly, while I really liked the UI and the assets, the way the game just stops spawning hearts and saws, with no sort of indicator as to whether or not the player won or lost after the time runs out, makes things very confusing. It especially doesn't help that the player character can still move even after the time has run out. Stopping the player character's movement, along with adding some sort of win or lose screen, will help prevent the player from having any confusion about whether or not they've completed the game. Overall, not a bad game, but it could definitely use a bit more polish to make it much more fun.
I do like the concept of this game, I understand that the intended concept of what gameplay looks like would be to run around and collect hearts as they disappear and reappear while avoiding saws, however I think there are some major design flaws that might confuse or drive away a casual player, first when the time runs out it does not take you to a lose screen (or a win screen depending on how many hearts are collected) but instead the hearts and saws stop appearing, this may confuse a player as to if they have won or lost as they still have control of moving the sprite around, secondly I never felt like there was a real threat from the saws as I only encountered them 3 times over the course of the gameplay, which made trying to get to the hearts the main goal instead of also avoiding the saws, lastly when you do collect a heart it sort of halts movement for a second which prevented me from collecting a bunch of hearts when they appeared at once, I feel like if you fixed those errors this game would be more exciting for gameplay, the concept of the game however was certainly great!
Interesting idea with a good foundation. The main gameplay feels clear and it was enjoyable to see how everything comes together. Clearer on screen prompts would make it feel smoother but overall it's a fun experience.
I think the idea of this game has some potential, there are just values and some settings that need to be tweaked to make it better. Having a faster character while scaling them down would be something that I would start with and the idea of threats and lives randomly spawning make the game challenging sometimes while it can also make the game easy.
Core functions are there. No real endgame condition, I'm kind of unsure if I lost or not. Player charaacter is too large for the screen. Overall neat concept, just needs some work!
End game functionality is missing and the UI's positioning is a little janky. All in all, the core functionality of the game is there, and it is an interesting concept. Have you ever heard of Hungry Knight?
