Game description
In this game the player guides a ship through the sea, evading obstacles and other dangers hosted on each scene.

Theme interpretation
For me, WAVES was about facing the challenges on the water, trying to guide a boat with its custom physics through a set of static or moving perils

Cool little game. The collisions need some more work (as said earlier by others), but don't let that discourage you, you made some good work. Maybe try to create the art yourself, with a free program. You'd be surprised how cool you can make some 16x16 art with your own hands :)

Developer

But I drew them by myself... microStudio has its own sprite editor, and everything was made there

Submitted

Ah then see this as a compliment, I saw it as art from a professional marketplace and it was good. So good job then!

Developer

Oh, they aren't that well done to be honest but thank you for your compliments

Nice game. The Collisions were a bit unfair though. I often found myself sinking  just because I barely touched the edge of a stone by 1 pixel. The font was also a bit hard to read. Still, I enjoyed this relaxing journey. Well done :)

Developer

Thank you for your comments, the font will be replaced later, maybe the boat could be a little smaller to fit better, but for the most part, the difficulty is as expected

Very nice little game!

A bit frustrating sometimes as it can be hard to determine how close we can pass and the collision are not really permissive, but that makes it an achievement when we pass as well.

As already mentioned, the colors need a bit work as it can be tricky to read the yellow sometimes.

Also when you die, it probably would be a good idea to remove the ray towards the mouse, as everytime it made me think I was still in control and had a second chance.

Otherwise very fun to play and good mechanics, with a good variety of levels as well. Music is fitting as well.

Very well done!

Developer

Thank you for your comments. I will take a look at the texts and the mouse ray eventually

I liked the gameplay. Although i think the game would benefit alot from better control, like realtime controlling. I died a lot to moving obstacles since i couldnt re-adjust myself mid movement, especially currents although that could just be a skill issue on my part, good game!

Developer

Thank you for your comment. To be honest, part of the challenge is the movement mechanic as it is so it becomes a test of timing and precision.

Really liked the music and the overall experience. I'm a bit frustrated about collisions, that I find a bit too "pixel/square perfect".

Real point of improvement: fonts and color. Yellow letters on blue water is almost impossible to read.

Developer

Thank you for your comments. I though yellow would offer a nice contrast to all that blue background. I will try to fix the text as soon as I can

You're welcome!
You can use tools like coolors.co to check if two colors have good contrast or not. ;)

I love the point and click mechanic of this game makes it enjoyable for casual gamers like myself. I like the music choice. Only comments i have are to say at the begining to get to the next level by reaching the open water at the bottom of the screen, i found myself stuck for a hot minute and lastly some refinement on the textures i noticed a lot of sprites could use a transparent background and some tiles were messed up (i think). overall though good game.

Developer

Thank you for your comments and I'm glad you liked it. I have to take a closer look to the transparency because it just did not happen, so maybe another editor might help there
