This is officially my favorite submission in the jam. To me, this kind of game is exactly what the eldritch genre is about. It's not some grand battle, just a person on the beach, trying not to look up.

Truly a beautiful experience, and has shown me that a very small game can be just so impactful for these things.

I wouldn't even want more gameplay, necessarily. Maybe just more dialogue, or a couple of dialogue choices. Alternatively, you could implement the mechanic that the thing in the sky only gets larger when you look at it, but eventually you have to look at it.

Amazing game, top marks from me.

I'm glad you submitted! The "sky thing" is incredible, and I love the bit-crushed sfx. The character on the verge of pleasant reminiscence, prevented by existential dread, is captured very well in the sound design of that ominous drone when looking up.

Thanks a lot! I had a bit of trouble making the right kind of drone for looking up and I wasn't sure if it was good or not, so I'm glad you thought it was good. Thanks for playing!

Haha yeah, I kind of left it up to the player if they wanted to look up the entire time or not.  As for the eye animation, it's just a static pixel art eye I drew, and a bunch (100) of tentacles placed in a circle around it. The tentacles are just 2d lines that have noise scrolling over them to make them wiggle.

The visuals and the atmosphere are amazing!

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Visually stunning, this legit could be an intro to a banger shooter game. For what this game tries to be, it does that very well. Great work!

Thanks! A shooter game is not what comes to mind immediately for me, but thinking about it a boomer shooter set in the digestive tract/body of an eldritch being would be absolutely sick. Designing an ecosystem inside it, and maybe the stomach is full of all the other planets and civilisations it's eaten. Maybe I need to think about that more. Thanks for playing though!

Some really good visuals and atmosphere! wish there was more gameplay elements but for a jam this is really great!

Developer

Thanks! I only really had time to art and story for the game unfortunately, maybe in the future when I'm better at 3D I'd be able to add a bit more to the game. Thanks for playing!

That was captivating and very well made. An experience I'll never forget. There were minimal game elements though, but, BUT, it left a strong impression and would go great with game elements. Well done.

Thanks! I didn't think the audio on the web would be THAT bad for some people, I'll have to look into a way to fix that. I'm glad you liked the story though, thanks for playing!

Amazing visuals and atmosphere, a job well done! It does make me want to play a longer & more drawn out experience for sure.

Thanks a lot! I slapped the game together in about 3 days so unfortunately didn't have much time to add actual gameplay. I'm thinking about adding a bit of gameplay to it, but I have other jams to do so unfortunately probably won't update this one. Thanks for playing though!
