Spent too much time on that last level. Was fun though!
very interesting platformer! it's weird, normally platformers with really slippery controls don't work very well, but i actually thought they were quite interesting here :) i think the fact that the slopes play such a large part in conserving your momentum makes the controls a lot more satisfying than they otherwise would be. a very short game but i quite enjoyed it. i did try to go for 13 coins for the cap, but i was unfortunately not able to find more than 10 ^^; hopefully it wasn't anything too major
Thanks a lot for your kind words. I wish the slope movement was more smooth.
No worries about the cap, it's nothing more than a cosmetic :D I should add hints for the hidden coins tho.
Great job! Nice platformer! I like your narrative!
I like how you design movement (slide) for theme, that's something really cool. I think idea could be develop further for some precision platformer idea. It's tough but funny to do (toy like)
SFX and music is good matching the game style.
I love how you made this small animation of sliding and your small companion.
Probably the thing i would improve is movement responsiveness. There could be more tolerance for jump press reaction so i still jump being on edge of platform. That's something you could research from internet about platformer movement.
Congratulations on your first submission! *clap*
Thanks a lot! I should totally add some coyote time, good point.
Nice little platformer, impressive for your first - good progression on the difficulty that last level took a while.
Love the secret coins and the sweet hat.
Thanks for submitting - keep them coming
Thanks a lot. It's only my first Godot Wild Jam paticipation, not my first platformer / game jam.
Happy to hear you went for all the coins :)
I could not find coin 13, but it was still great!
Thanks! The last level has no coins, I hope you didn't search there for too long.
I finally finished level 5 and went to the great giant penguin in the sky. I really appreciated my little buddy, my pal, flying next to me the whole time. It never judged when I fell into the icicles, it smiled when I grabbed those succulent coins, and was always there, flapping. Maybe only a little mocking that it could fly, and I, a penguin, could not, but then again: I could tell it was in jest, out of love, for I too knew that I could slip and slide, and it could not. We all must cater to our strengths.
Haha thanks for playing and making me chuckle
Awesome! What a cute little game. The controls feel slippery, yet somehow still snappy and controllable. Good job!
Nice little game! The sliding felt pretty good.. Had a hard time with level 5 but was finally able to get the momentum working for me and finish. I especially like the beginning of level 4! Congrats!
Hit me with those sonic vibes, feels like I should be going fast but I definitely don't want to if I want to make it to the end of the level.
You did a good job implementing the sliding, it feels like you really need to work with the momentum you built up and you can't really stop yourself easily when you get going.
Nice work.
Could have better level design and more zoomed out camera, but overall I liked this one. Also not sure if this led to a secret or if it was a bug but there was a wall the player could go through.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the game. The walk-through walls hide secret coins and one time a shortcut, I should add visual feedback for them. I appreciate your feedback.
Fun platformer. Cute art and premise.
Fun little momentum platformer!
Cool game! Love this section where the first bounce pad leads into the second:
Definitely on the harder side, but a very cute game! The slipping mechanic makes it very hard. I struggled quite a lot on level 3 but I figured it out :D
Great entry!
So hard! the last level was so difficult but I had a fun time with it still! great job!
Thanks and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Wow, really difficult but super fun! I especially liked the tranquil music. Gameplay was solid and self-explanatory, I appreciated the tutorial but not sure it was necessary as the first level did a good job of explaining the mechanics by showing. Really nice game and the controls felt good if difficult!
Happy to hear that you had fun. Fair point with the tutorial, I appreciate the feedback.
Genuinely, putting a tutorial in a jam game at all is bonus points from me! I never have the time for it.
