the game looks great and i really loved the visuals but i couldn't get past the first room, i tried interacting with the window using Enter and Space but nothing worked
It’s the open window in the parents’ bedroom. If you explore the map a bit, you should find it pretty easily. Just walk up to the open window and interact with it. If you can, try testing the game again with that in mind.
Love your gameplay mechanism. story is really pleasing. Wish you all the best.
The level design pretty good. The gameplay is very simple. I would suggest use the 2D light layer and light object extension in GDevelop to make the level even more visually appealing. And also props for using light as a scarce resource. The music and execution seems pretty good. Well done.
Want to see more levels of it.
the game need an in-game instructions I dont know how to intract witht the window I have pressed every button
That window is the one in the parents’ bedroom. If you explore the map a bit, you’ll find it pretty easily. Just walk up to the open window and interact with it.
wow my life is so easier now
nice artstyle and creature design! wish i could see more from the eye
That creature was supposed to be the final boss. With some more time in the future, I’d really like to update the game and turn it into an actual boss battle.
Really impressive project — great job! From my point of view, adding more varied mechanics could make it even better, but the visuals and atmosphere are excellent.
We originally planned to add more mechanics and even combat, but the jam’s short timeframe limited what could be done. On top of that, the mechanics included in the game didn’t get the chance to be properly explored.
really great game one of the best in jam and deserves 5 star, was a bit hard to understand what to do, but figured out with comments, graphics and animations are really well made and beautiful
great game! It did help to read the comments and figure out how to leave the house. The game would benefit from a bg soundtrack, but I do like the horror take on Christmas presented, good job!
The game is very nice. graphics, animation and characters are impressive.
It seems like the full version of the game would be about completing quests and progressing through the story.
Narrative is one of the things that can help hold a player's attention.
But overall, I found it boring; there were no quests, and the flashlight was useless in the version I was given. All I had to do was walk back and forth, tediously, for a long time.
The core mission is focused on destroying the monsters’ cocoon. Ideally (and probably in a future update), there would be a boss fight there instead of the player just breaking the big cocoon and ending the game. Many mechanics were added but not deeply used due to the short jam timeframe. Regarding the flashlight, it’s actually used to repel the monsters.
To everyone who is stuck in the first home: to leave the starting room, go through the wall at the bottom right. For those who have left the room, there is a door to the right of the Christmas tree in the living room. Once you reach the parents’ bedroom, exit through the window.
Otherwise, the game is great!
Thank you, yes this is the description I needed!
Hey! We meet again, at last ( Gigantic Jam) the game looks amazing, but i could not advance in it, tried pressing "E" at everything, then looked at menu and saw it was "Space" to interact, then even with that, i was not able to interact with anything.
ahhhh, faz sentido, vou testar aqui
This game looks beautiful but how do you actually play it? I walked around the whole house, tried every wall, clicked on everything, walked up to everything and pressed E, tried walking into the TV, the oven, the fridge. I feel like there probably is more to this game than the house but I can't find it.
After the traumatic event at the window, when you see your parents disappear, you’re supposed to jump through that same window. That takes you outside the house, and from there the rest of the world opens up for you to explore.
Thank you for the description. I played again and managed to complete the game and save Christmas! You've done well drawing everything and creating a whole world.
I think part of the issue is sometimes things looked like impassable walls to me for some reason and I didn't realise I could walk through them, but I did eventually find I could go through something to find the window up the top and then I was away, so thanks for the help figuring that out! Great job!
It turned out great! The controls and graphics are pleasing, and they feel handcrafted and pay attention to detail. The color palette is very appropriate, and the lighting mechanics in the first location are well done. It was a bit creepy, too. One suggestion: add some background music during the game)
Thanks a lot! Because of the limited time, the first part ended up receiving much more polish and attention, while the rest didn’t get the same level of care, but they still manage to deliver the intended vibe.
Certainly an ambitious and eerie concept. Great atmosphere!
