The presentation is amazing, it gave a creepy vibe of being underwater and not being able to see anything, wondering what's out there. Reminded me of Duskers. The only thing holding it back for me is that the sonar pulses aren't really finite, I never felt the tension of running out. But other than that I had a great time playing, one of the most unique concepts I've seen this jam too, amazing job!
Really effective use of the LIDAR concept, and I loved how oppressive the atmosphere was, I really felt like I was deep in an unimaginable ocean. The upgrading feature was a really nice touch as well, that added a fun rougelike aspect.
So polished, great concept, I enjoyed it quite a bit. It didn't really feel like probes were a finite resource in play, but in concept it completely aligns with the limitation. Maybe more monsters that moved around would help limit the player from sitting and waiting for probes to come back, or maybe only having regen for the first level. But this entry is super impressive.
One of the best so far. I spent a fair amount of time playing this. Consider publishing on Steam with Deck support and screen sharing to a cellphone and it will be GOAT.
The gameplay was great, but I really have to shout out the UI design. It's one of the things I really struggle with and here it looks so clean, cohesive and comprehensive. Combined with the audio and visual effects being on point, it makes this the game with the best presentation I have played this Jam so far.
I feel that the probes regenerating over time and health refilling at the start of each level really goes against the limitation though. It also makes the probe capacity kind of pointless, if I ever ran out, I could just chill at one spot for a while, but since there are so many probe upgrades, I was usually at full capacity anyways. You could IMHO reduce the max capacity to 25, remove the regeneration and it would still be fine.
But that is more or less the only critique I have, really well done.
Genuinely one of the coolest concepts in this jam, and one that has a lot of potential for a full release.
The overall feel is very claustrophobic. The only issue is there are too many probes and they regen too quickly, so it never feels like you're running low.
Thanks for the feedback! I struggled with the probe regen... as I think the game could've been too hard for a jam audience if you run out and then are out of options , but agree it takes away a lot of the tension. Thinking it through now the player should have be able to harvest their current equipment, that would've given a last resort.
Really liked the concept for this one. The enemies were terrifying. Would definitely play a full release of this.
Thanks for the feedback, very encouraging to hear you'd play full release! Loved your game too btw
Gameplay feels really well done here - I love the visuals and the idea that the probes light your path. Really well done!
Thank you, I focused on polish a lot!
Awesome system. Similar to some horror games I think.
This is fun, surprisingly tense navigating the sub in the dark
Thanks - This is high praise considering how great your submission was here!
Great game, incredible fun, it took me a little bit to understand all the controls but it was definitely worth it
Thanks glad you enjoyed it - I agree there were kind of a lot of controls for a game jam game, probably could've just done more through the UI
