The game was stylish and the music fit amazingly. I wish the enemies where a bit clearer on the map. Congrats on your game.

Nice presentation and music! I'm not sure if this is typical, but I ended up with a swarm of enemies that led to a slow framerate toward the end. Circling them seemed to be the best strategy — maybe there could be more structured levels?

Very fun game! I ended up relying on the cannon a lot, if only for the fact it was just the most consistent upgrade in terms of damage output and it doesn't require you to play as close to the enemies (felt hard to justify the risk given how scarce healing felt). If nothing else, I wished I could've played a lot more and hit a higher level (I think I got as much as 16), but the game lags once there are too many enemies, so I stopped being able to tell what was going on past that point ;P

played this game before but now that it's free to rate again came back to rate it. it's a great survivors-like jam entry, amazing music and fast paced, fun gameplay. the only thing what makes it a bit frustrating is the ship doesn't heal leveling up, which makes me play more cautiously rather than the usual survivors-like head into the crowd/fight, and this kinda goes against the intuitive gameplay of the genre. but it really is a well done and polished game, congrats!

Love the art, love the rogue like gameplay, great execution nice! Also I love to see another nautical game

Really cool work here, the pixel art looks great, the upgrade ideas fit, and that atmospheric soundtrack drops you straight into pirate mode. I personally would’ve loved to aim and fire the cannon myself instead of autoshoot, but that’s just my taste. Overall, nicely done!

Great work! Cannon upgrade seemed the best choise for me.

I feel like using same color pallet for both background and enemies made them harder to see. might try using slighty stronder colors on enmies.

Depending of ship facing angle its sptite changed it dimensions a lot making collison look inconsistent I think.

This is a great submission! very addictive, challenging, and fun. I found it hard to see the sharks when they were vertical, and the game got really laggy once a hundred or so enemies spawned. maybe some more optimization and this game would be perfect!

Loved the execution of the theme, the art and sound are really cool. Not a huge fan of the survivors-like genre but I see it has all the elements of the formula properly blended. Thanks a lot and congrats!

Super addictive, and quite cohesive! I found myself experimenting to see how the various weapons evolved as I upgraded, but always went back to the trusty cannonball.

Love the chest animation too, very satisfying haha. Great work!

Just curious, what level did the team manage to reach? Would be fun to add tiers to compare against for some additional personal rewards, even if it's solely in the game description :)

Thanks for playing! Ah the trusty cannon :)

I also opt for the cannon but add in a few levels of the trident for the slow. I think I managed to reach level 14 but my better half reached level 20 which is quite the feat! 😅

20, wow! Okay, that definitely beats my record haha.

Thanks for making this, had a lot of fun :)
