The core idea and main mechanic are both strong and feel well thought out, which makes the game immediately engaging and easy to understand. Everything also feels nicely polished, which really helps sell the experience and makes it feel complete rather than “jam-rough.”
Good job!

Thank you so much, I'm glad it turned out well!

It is really good. Wish there was a leader board.

Nice idea, I should make an endless mode where you just have to try rack up score :)

Really cool game, managed to beat it on the third attempt, nice job!

Super fun game! Really enjoyed this one. That health bar animation is particularly awesome! I feel like I'm really letting the guy down b/c he looks so stalwart and determined even though we both know I'm gonna get him killed haha XD

Definitely gonna keep playing this one and try to clear it. Difficulty was very fun. Great job and great concept

Developer

Thanks Maison, glad you enjoyed it! Hahaha I know it’s tough letting him down, but one of these days we’ll get him to the end alive! I’m away from my computer for a couple of days but looking forward to playing your game when I’m back :)

P.S. I might have a game-breaking bug when you get near the end… I did not create enough tally mark images for the total number of enemies you’ll defeat by the time you finish (it took me a while to even get close to the end of my own game, so I realised this only recently!) I’ll have a fix for it as soon as we can upload game updates.

Hope you enjoy our game when you get around to it!

And if you haven't beat it yet, I'm not liking my chances haha! But I'm a masochist so I'm cool with that XD If I get to the end, I'll let you know if it breaks on me or not

At first, I thought I could just spam my way to victory, but no, it doesn't work, you have to switch thoughtfully.:))

Cool game, good balance, I think it will be one of the top ones.

Developer

Thanks so much! I was concerned about the ability to spam attacks as well and considered adding some kind of cooldown timer, but I'm glad that wasn't needed in the end :)

Well rounded game. every mechanic feels smooth and well integrated

Developer

Thank you! Working with a very limited number of mechanics really helped me there :)

An incredibly exciting game and then I think the good part is that I didn't even need to read the manual—I just picked it up naturally. It's incredibly immersive, with the music and sound effects creating a very tense atmosphere. I really enjoy this kind of action-oriented game, nice game!

Developer

Thank you for the lovely feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Great game. Good balance, fun and challenging.

Developer

Thanks so much! I was unsure about the balance, so I'm glad to hear positive feedback about that :)

the art style and music work together very well :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I got so lucky with the music - it was literally the first song I found! I came across this free music pack from Retro Indie Josh and the first song on the list (perfectly titled "Fate Of Them All") was exactly the mood I was going for.

Nice game! Funny thought: could be made into a rythm game.

I like the art a lot and how the player face is shown.

Developer(+1)

That's an interesting idea! I originally also had the music become more reverby and distorted when you switch to spirit view (like listening to it underwater or in another room), but that effect unfortunately didn't make it into the export for whatever reason. I liked the idea of changing the mood of the soundtrack when switching between realms, which would work nicely in a rhythm game too!

Incredible! I love the idea of the game and it was very enjoyable to play

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad to hear you had a good time with it!

I love it!

This is definitely going to be a top tier submission. I love the artstyle, the concept, i could see myself playing this outside of the game jam as well. Well done!

Developer

Ahh thank you so much! Let me know if you ever make it to the win screen - I haven't gotten there myself yet XD

My favorite game so far.

I love how the player looks damaged and tire the more you get hit

and I really liked the fast paced gamelpay

Developer(+1)

OMG thank you! That player damage window took out a solid chunk of my day on Sunday (before the game even had music, sound effects, a game over or a win state lol). I had it noted down as a "nice to have" feature I'd implement if I had time only after the core game was complete, but in the end couldn't resist being sidetracked into making it... too much fun, and worth losing a night of sleep frantically finishing core gameplay a couple hours before deadline!

Congrats for finishing the jam! The game is really fun and, honestly, addicting. Well done :)

Developer(+1)

Congrats to you too, and thanks so much for the kind words. Can be tricky to judge how addicting something is when developing it, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!
