Game description
Pixel art platformer where you play as a wizard who can shoot magic spell waves. The goal is to shoot crystals and other targets as you climb the tower to unlock all of the colors in the tower in waves. The tower contains all the colors of the rainbow, hit all the crystals to unlock all the colors!
Theme interpretation
I interpreted the theme through the use of the colors of the rainbow (which is made up of waves of light), through unlocking these colors in waves (one at a time), and through the wizard 's spell being in the form of a wave.

Cool platformer, but its weirdly difficult, I like that. For some reason, the player won't double jump sometimes and I got stuck on the level to the right.
I love the graphics and background music, reminded me of the old dos / windows game compilation cd’s I used to get - the ones with hundreds of charming quirky indie titles on them.
The platforming is fairly solid, and gets very challenging. The tower is massive and sprawling. I will say that the platforms get a little small and fiddly in some sections, and there were some jumps i couldn’t quite figure out how to do without taking damage. Not sure if I’d reached somewhere gated by another double jump or whether using the spike as a temp platform and careful health management was the intended way to surpass it…
Finally, I would have liked if the first color came earlier in the experience as the grey seemed to last a little too long.
But overall I think this was a great tight little experience. Great work!
Cool platformer with a good amount of challenge. I really like how more color is introduced as you progress.
I finished the game it a decent precision platformer. What I would really like is a dash and less small platforms. You can reset the jumps on the enemy obstacles which makes the last part pretty easy to cheese heh
Fun platformer! The character can be a bit zippy and there are a few too many precision jumps for my liking but overall a solid entry. Nice work!
Thank you! I think it's the physics material I used for the platforms but I agree with you and that's totally fair I'll have to pay more attention to difficulty for next time as I've gotten this note a few times.
I went in and finished it, it was pretty intense. I liked the pixel art a lot and overall was quite fun, I do have a couple of comments regarding the gameplay itself. I am probably way to used to regular platformers were you collect things by touching them (colliding with them) but on your game you need to shoot them, I know it is stated on the game description but muscle memory betrayed me and ended up forgetting midway and lost the hearts. Also the shoot to collect mechanic lets you somewhat cheese some things since you don’t need to get there per se, just need to shoot it, unsure if that’s actually intended but thought it was worth mentioning. The other comment I have is about the sliding, on some platforms you slide a bit, considering some of the platforms were quite small the sliding felt more annoying than a challenge at times and the moving platforms always give you like that small smoke effect as if you were constantly sliding. And one suggestion is that at times it wasn’t clear where to jump to next, many platformers show players where to jump with some sort of collectible indicating the way, while I agree that this gives the player incentive to try and explore, sometimes it felt more like an issue than intended design in particular when the moving platforms weren’t visible at all and you just had to guess or do a leap of faith to find it. I know I have said a lot of things but it’s because I liked this one quite a lot and I hope my feedback comes as constructive more than complains, specially because I feel you nailed the feeling of those platformers from the early 2010 like I wanna be the guy and such, and the triple jump worked well with the overall game, I think it has potential to be a longer game and you can expand more on it since it’s a solid working base.
Thanks a ton for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it and I definitely agree with all of your notes on the game, I noticed some of those bugs while play testing myself and just ran out of time to fix them but they definitely would've made it better had I gotten around to it. Either way though I'm glad you enjoyed the game, thanks again for the critique I definitely found it constructive and not harsh I'm always looking to prove and it's great to learn what does and doesn't work :)
I didn't get very far at all because I'm not good at platformers but I thought it was well done, the platform placements are tight and the art was pretty
Totally understandable, I'm glad you liked the art and design though!
