Very nice demo, I can see a lot of work went into making all of the models and animations, "maybe" some of the animations were playing too fast and felt awkward but I got used to it with time. The hub area works even though looks a little lackluster, I'm an explorer so I had to visit all houses and surroundings and some rocks looked very low poly and had low textures (behind the witch's house for example). HUD looks great, looks professional, I especially like these red buttons when leaving the area.

I jumped on barrels and got stuck somewhere close to the forge. Camera has no collision with floor when standing in the cathedral after beating the witch. Camera could use some easing as it jumps rapidly when we have obstacle close to it. Also I think that lock-on is a little off. I think it should be always dead center, and here it's always a little to the left or right.

I've beaten everybody EXCEPT that last foxy lady. She's a monster. I tried at least 30 times, and I already got good! Could parry her jumping kick, could parry her grab, I had plenty occasions to parry her rotating fan combo. Got multiple times to the second phase but there was always something killing me in the end. I think it's too easy to lose your health bar or maybe she has too much health. Any time I was trying to attack her I was doing literally chip damage. Either that sword is made from paper or she has steel skin.

Dialogs could use portraits, it's easy to get lost who talks when. I don't follow the story, my gut tells me it's just an excuse to put waifus into deadly scenarios. There's a boob lady, boob lady with a big sword and there's that witch...

I also see there's onsen so I'm guessing we'll have a mandatory bath episode. I dunno, I'm not sold on the characters and the plot.

The game is in a good state. I'm afraid that you'll have to grind more enemies and that will take a lot of time. I'd personally prefer some normal mobs to kill between bosses - they can be reused, they don't have to have too many unique attacks, you could practice your magic on them. I think it's a sensible thing.

BTW I saw that your demo was promoted by some high profile account on twitter. You're gaining popularity so keep it up!

Thanks for playing!

The barrel section is kind of an easter egg/hidden area for later, I just kept it in as a little secret because the rocks happened to leave that small opening. The floor collision has been fixed recently, too.

For camera easing, it's hard to find a balance because it needs to be responsive enough to keep up with some of the other enemies. Locked camera also has to offset itself a little to frame things from a slight angle so that you don't fully cover the enemy, but I also haven't considered the part of having it be dead centered too.

The story kind of is just that, and there isn't much else you need to know beyond the few mandatory conversations if all you want to do is to fight.

Unfortunately, regular non-bosses are part of the game's "will not do" list, because each boss is supposed to ask something a little different of the player to quickly build them up to the point where I can throw even crazier stuff out there and expect them to deal with it. At most, I might do more in-depth ability-focused tutorials/training mode in future, because even the fox can be done in under 2 minutes if you understand how to maximize your damage with the skills.

Sorry for the late responses and DD reviews, I've been busy with managing the Steam demo launch.

Some of the bugs that have been mentioned here are fixed in the latest builds (I hope), so give it a try and see if it still happens.

This anger me.

Anyways, got a blackscreen on first dialogue after tuto. Played on wine.Had to restart to solve problem.

Got another black screen on first boss defeat. Stopped here.

Use Proton silly.

Moveset variety is good, boss movesets are varied. I only played DS1 so I'm not too familiar with parry based games.

Pressing Advance on controller while talking to Kouta doesn't work so I have to use fast-forward. Being midair before the first tutorial box causes a game freeze. Camera also lets me do this which is on the unintentional side.

I was also able to softlock the game by returning to the cathedral right before the leaping suplex attack.

I had seen the game before, but this was my first time playing it. Sometimes my controller would lose focus and I had to use mouse and keyboard for the prompts, and the cursor would reappear in the center of the screen. The hub music also seemed to bug out and didn’t go away. The jump kick felt a little bit OP, though I still couldn’t reach Nia’s second phase. It was fun, sexo with Lynette.

Thanks for playing! Yeah, there's a lot of bugs in controller focus, and I'm slowly working my way through finding them all.

I played the steam demo with keyboard and mouse, it was quite frustrating as someone who never played any dark souls or games alike and im currenlty stuck at Nia, almost cheesed her out with the sword hold stance

The spells were given to me without much clarity of what they are, what they're for and how to use them, I still have no clue much about most of them, sometimes when i try one they dont seem to do anything so i'm not understanding their role, their descriptions aren't clear enough.

Lynette fight seemed bugged because it was easy and boring, are the shields meant to be recasted instantly? I just spent the entire fight right clicking deflecting

The dialogues are quite bad, they go fast and you're unsure who's talking.

note: the game soft locked here at the boss select area, I could move the camera but not leave the position:

Thanks for playing!

It is intended for players to figure out how best to use the skills on their own, but I'm still thinking of how I can add extra tutorials for those...

Lynette's a pure projectile parry check. You either learn to reflect them and win the fight in under a minute or you spend forever trying to get past it. The shields have a duration equal to their cooldown, so they'll swap to the next colour if you don't manage to break it in time, and it's also unlikely for you to be able to break the shield without performing reflection against a whole sequence of the projectiles.

Someday I'll add small bits of voice acting....

I haven't seen other bugs related to that area, but you should be able to just move and leave the dialogue pose. There's a lot of dialogue related bugs that popped up, which I've fixed in recent updates.
