I did it, but it took a really long time!
The idea is great, the mechanics are clear and interesting. I think there’s potential.
There are many things that could significantly improve the game, but they’re not that hard to implement:
The construction elements, their effects, and the construction time are generally good. They provide good risk/reward.
I also didn’t quite understand what sacrifices do. I sacrificed about 3-4 minions and I think I got one teleport.
I also remember Do Not Feed the Monkeys. I think I could check out how they implemented time-pressing in the part where you have to complete tasks on time to survive.
Overall, I really liked the concept and gameplay mechanics. It could make a good time management game with tactics.
Thanks for playing, the feedback is really appreciated! I agree some major balancing changes are needed. I'll admit I've never played a TD game before so I don't have a super strong grasp on what makes a mechanic good or not. As for the art/animations, I am not an artist. It takes me a long time to make an asset that looks halfway decent, and even longer to animate one. That's something I've been focusing on for the Marathon Jam version :)
To answer your question about the sacrifice mechanic: if you keep the minion 1 hero gets added to the play field. sacrficing the minion won't spawn a new hero, but just gives you less to work with. It's sort of a last minute thing I came up with while trying to find consequences for ignoring calls. Definitely going to be refined in the full version.
Idea is nice, good job!
Buttons are weird, not easy to understand what is needed now, or how to place a tower.
I like the idea! But yeah, feedback on placing stuff and fewer time interruptions would be fantastic.
The game rules and machnics are interesting. And the easter eggs are funny ... a call from Michael Jackson? :-)
Seems like way to easy to fight the heroes back though. Maybe let the player place traps and minions only near the bottom?
Thanks! The michael jackson spam call is my favorite one. Limiting placement is a good idea, I'll add that to the todo list :)
The game is interesting, but I still haven't figured out why sometimes the minions didn't respond when I tried to expose them.
Thanks for playing! The buttons have a weird click area and there's currently no feedback for placement. I'll keep that in mind for a full release :)
Yo, did you sleeped? haha Nice entry :D
