Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
We interpreted the theme both spiritually and in a couple of non-conventional ways.
Spirituality:
The theme's image resembles The Sistine Chapel's Creation of Adam. A key theme in the painting is the gift of life received from God.
The playable character is a pot with a similar connection to their own god. The flame constantly burning is a symbol of the life force they received.
By moving around the symbol of their god, the character receives godly aid in maneuvering around various obstacles.
Non-conventional interpretation:
The image of hands forms a gesture of connection, or the image of a bridge. Through the player's control over light and shadow, the player creates "bridges" from one side of a chasm to another in order to continue along his journey.
The only shadows the player is able to manipulate are those of statues. We chose this to emphasize the presence of human body shapes in our game.
The player is also able to control a shadow clone of himself. We think this game mechanic is reminiscent of two-player puzzle platformers where one player has to move ahead and leave the other behind in order to progress. This sense of cooperation and coordination is another interpretation of the theme image.
In addition, there is a key room in the game that directly references the theme image :)

I love the art and the mechanics! also the statues look like jojo poses and thats a win for me
Great mechanic and excellent level design. The art is neat, I just found it a bit hard sometimes to differenciate the background and the foreground.
This is a really good entry nonetheless, well done!
A totally fair point! Thank you for your feedback!!
Neat game! Looks great and the shadow and character mechanics are innovative and well applied. Great work
Thank you so much!!
Nice. If add mouse hover effect and the status interactable effect will better.
For sure, thanks for the comment!
I really enjoyed the strange, quirky tone of this game. A lot of the small feedback details are done really well, for example, the sound of the pots breaking. I can imagine that developing and polishing the light and shadow platforming mechanics is not easy at all, but the final experience is fun and engaging. Good job!
Thank you!! It was easier than expected but your mileage will vary depending on your expectations lmao
This is such a nice mechanic, very intuitive and fun. Would love for harder puzzles and for a better use for the "normal form" of the main character. Currently I was able to just run through all the levels by just using the shadow mode almost and positioning the shadows correctly. Nevertheless, great concept and execution!
That's very real, we were nervous about making the puzzles too difficult and a lot of them are fairly light as a result. In more developed puzzles the normal form is important for readjusting the light source and moving statues around, but that only comes up a couple times in the game as currently designed. I'm so happy you enjoyed what we did have!
Really cute game with a great mechanic, but the name gave me flashbacks to my art history classes lol. I would appreciate a way to reset statue positions, because I came very close to softlocking myself. Great entry!
LMAO sorry for the reminder
That's totally fair, thank you for your comment!
first of want to say I've played 15 games today and saw DaySideUp commenting on half of them, thanks for leaving good constructive feedbacks for the jam 🙌
the art is well painted and the music slaps. very interesting puzzle/mechanics. The platformer character controller behaves a little weird on slanted slopes. and sometime a bit hard to tell what part of the level has collision which doesn't. But overall very solid entry.
light and shadow... clair obscur??? is this a scheme to make Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 win ANOTHER award? 🤔
Yeah I've been making my rounds! I mean its an excuse to play a ton of video games lmao
Thank you for your feedback!
Very cool concept and the artwork is very beautiful!
Thank you very much!!
