This climbing game felt surprisingly relaxing to me. The controls work really well, and because of that it never felt frustrating like many other climbing games. I actually want to come back and play more when I have time.
The gameplay feels solid and smooth, and the overall experience is calm despite the tense theme. Overall, a nicely designed entry where good controls make all the difference.
Thanks a lot for the kind words! And yeah, the game is pretty relaxing when you're not trying to go as fast as possible because the stamina system is fairly forgiving. I tried to make it so the player could take their time, while still adding a bit of a restriction, so I'm glad it turned out well. Thanks for playing!
The most impressive part of this entry is how it caused my palms to sweat very quickly. This is an impressive feat, especially considering the low-res PS1 aesthetic. Masterful work, my friend.
glad to see someone went with the growing infection theme, that was my runner up when i was brainstorming
amazing visuals and i love the sound design, gameplay is beyond my skill level but i still had fun !
good job :]
This is so similar to white knuckle. I just wish you could control each hand individually. But good job!
this game is awesome!! graphics, gameplay, everything! but it was a bit too difficult for me, and the fact that u couldnt stand on those metal bars made it even more difficult
Oh, playing this was really fun, but I had trouble repeating the same sequence dozens of times, hehe... Maybe I'm sounding like an IGN journalist, but I think it lacked some save points that would have made the player's life easier, but apart from that, your game is really cool and BEAUTIFUL. Overall, it's an excellent job, congratulations!
I played the web version and I'm not sure why, but my camera kept on flicking around, which made it very difficult to navigate. Maybe use different materials/color shades for climbable objects, so that the player doesn't get confused with what he can climb. You are able to walk on some objects and on others you can't, this slightly disrupts the game flow. Besides that, nice ambience and great level design :D!
Yeah there's a weird bug with 3D Godot web exports where the mouse will just randomly flick around sometimes, I have no clue why so I might have to look into that. Good point with the materials. I felt like it was fairly obvious what you could and couldn't walk on, but maybe I needed to communicate that better. Anyway, thanks for playing!
If you jump but do not release LMB you will not grab anything unless you release it first (though that one is because I thought you could hold LMB to grab stuff as soon as it was possible to grab something)
The grab range I personally thought was surprisingly short and I sometimes was unable to judge if something was in range and/or possible to grab (having like a transparent version of the hands show up on whatever thing that you can grab if you aim your mouse at it or something)
Making it possible to set mouse sensitivity wouldve been awesome
Not being able to grab things after jumping is, like you said, to stop the player from being able to immediately grab onto what they just jumped from. I probably should have put a timer on it so it allows you to grab something after like half a second of holding grab down though. And yeah I wanted to add something similar to a transparent set of hands to let you know if something is in range because it does get a bit annoying. Unfortunately I didn't get the time to add that one. I'll keep this in mind for the future though, thanks for the feedback!
This is super fun! Great controls and ambience, definitely has that white knuckle feel.
Cool Game! For Game Jam games I believe you always benefit from having a tutorial just so it makes it a little easier to figure out all the different controls, but amazing stuff regardless!
