Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
In the theme image, two hands are about to touch. We immediately feel that hands serve as carriers of human emotional connections. People express delicate and intimate feelings through holding hands or interlocking fingers. At the same time, complex and conflicted emotions can be felt in the hesitation of wanting to touch but not daring to do so. Hands can also become a way to release frustration through pushing or fighting. The emotions conveyed through hands can be both positive and negative.

In our short detective game, we deliberately limit what the player can observe to the hands of each suspect. By examining the marks and traces left on their hands, players uncover the complex emotional entanglements between people.

In the theme image, some parts of the hands are solid and clearly defined, while others fade into shadow and feel almost illusory. In the game, the marks on the hands are imprints of the past, visible and tangible. However, the stories behind those marks remain hidden. Players must click on each trace to hear the suspects’ statements and gradually piece together the truth.

The suspects’ hands mainly reveal their past experiences, relationships, emotions, and conflicts. Besides, we introduced a small cat character. By using their own hands to control the mouse and click on the cat, players can obtain unique clues that assist the investigation. In this way, the player and the cat work together to solve the case. This mechanic represents the emotional connection formed between the player and the cat, brought together through the player’s hands.

Really innovative take on the gamejam cue and impressive work to implement on the idea under such short amount of time. The sole focus on clues from hands is such a nice twist of more raditional detective game genre. Impressive!

Very cute detective game, i could tell a lot of work went into the art work. I did manage to solve the case just through random guess work, I wish there was a way to question previous suspects with information from later suspects. Nice entry.

That was also one of the features we originally envisioned. Allowing players to challenge earlier statements using testimonies/other statements they had already obtained. We hope to have time to add this in the future.

So cute, nice artworks!

I’m very sorry that, due to time constraints, I didn’t manage to add a case review section. I’ve added a link to a TXT file with the case facts in the game page’s description section if you’re interested in checking it out.

非常抱歉由于时间原因,没有来得及添加案件复盘环节。我在游戏页面的描述部分添加了案件真相的txt链接,如果感兴趣可以去看看。

反馈一个小bug,快速连点小猫咪,会触发无限放大~ Feedback a small bug, quickly connecting to a kitten will trigger infinite zoom in~

游戏我非常喜欢,抽丝剥茧的感觉。但是却缺少点复盘环节。加油! I really enjoy the game, the feeling of unraveling the threads. But it lacks a review process. Come on!

复盘环节写了一个txt文档添加到游戏页面description部分了。非常感谢你的反馈!bug我会在比赛结束后修复。

Really cool to have a detective game at such a small scale, you all packed a lot clever clues into just the suspects' hands.

I liked inspecting the hands, I thought it was interesting what kinds of clues could be learned from inspecting them. I also liked the cat!

Fun little detective game! I really enjoyed it, thought it was a clever little mystery to figure out.

Some notes on User Experience that I had during the game:

When I had found all the clues, I kept getting the all clues found screen when I changed suspect, which was a bit annoying.

It could be nice to have some indicator for the cursor to show if there was more info with a clue or not, as when I got stuck I ended up just clicking on things again and again till I found the right thing.

It could be nice to get a little summary of the entire case when you've solved it, to confirm that you've had the right thoughts, think similar to how it's done in the Golden Idol games.

These are just small nitpicks though, and I thoroughly enjoyed the game. The art is really good, the music at the end was really nice, and I think the game was a very clever interpretation of the theme. I'll also say I think the cat is a very nice addition, giving you a cute partner to support you.

Good job!

I’ve created a TXT file for the case facts and added its link to the game page’s description. Thank you so much for your feedback! I’ll fix the issue with the “all clues found” prompt always showing after the jam ends.

Thank you, loved seeing that I got it (mostly) right! Again, excellent work!
