Nice little puzzle game! Fun to play around with, and didn't take too long to get a hang of it. I did sometimes have a bug where it wouldn't kick the ball when I stopped, so you may want to take a look at that. The game could also probably be a bit harder, I managed to finish multiple levels with plenty of passes to spare. Very good concept though, good work!
Fun game! Really creative use of the countdown mechanic, and very satisfying seeing everything explode at once. Think you have a good basis here, would love to see this expanded into more upgrades and more enemies.
One nitpick would be to change the abilities from being the number keys, it was a bit annoying to use them in conjunction with WASD and the mouse.
Fun little game! My complaint would be that I wish the tooltips were a bit bigger, and maybe a bit more of a tutorial.
If you were to expand on the concept I would maybe make you have less space to work with. I ended up kinda solving the game by spamming down factories to finish the rocket on time.
But the game looks nice, and was fun to play
I really liked this! Very fun, and I also love language puzzlers (Recommend checking out Heaven's Vault if you haven't!)
Currently ended up at 98% complete, struggling with the secret translation and one of the concepts, but I'll see if I can have any ideasa tomorrow.
My main nitpick in terms of user experience would be that when I click on a word to to type it in, I am no longer able to change pages, I have to close the book entirely and re-open it. Also being able to use the scroll wheel to navigate pages might be a good QoL feature.
I think this could also be very fun to see expanded if that is something that interests you.
Hi, I sadly couldn't play much of your game, as my keyboard didn't have the button I needed to swap gravity. I tried pressing all the buttons, but it didn't work unfortunately :(
I think the visuals of the game look really nice though, and combined with a music I think they create a nice ambience. I think the little I was able to control the characters also felt really nice.
This game is quite cute! I think you have quite a nice basis for a puzzle game here. I think the controllers feel generally feel nice and intuitive. I thought the story was cute, and it could also definitely be expanded if you wanted more levels.
I do however think it would be better if I can control when the narrative progresses. It's a just a bit more chill when you can take your time to read each text-box, instead of it suddenly going to the next one.
I also think the log puzzle was a bit unintuitive, just cause there's nothing indicating that the clouds can be moved. I think a hint or something else that indicates what items are interactible could help the game.
I did find two bugs though:
I got a lot of lag on the log puzzle, I'm not quite sure why, but it was very unwieldy to move it.
On the rock puzzle, there was no collision, so I was able to have the people just walk straight through the rock.
I really liked the music, I thought it contributed to the chill vibe, but it did just stop while I was playing, so I would set the track to be looping instead. (It's a bit unintuitive in Godot, but there's good guides online).
Overall I thought it was a good game, with lots of potential to expand on if that's something you're interested in. It shows you have a good grasp of game feel fundementals.
This is really cool! Your artstyle is great, I must say, just has that wonderful creepy atmosphere, that goes really well with the music that you made as well
I did see that you said you focused on narrative and message over gameplay, but I do think you could do something more with gameplay that would enhance that even more. This is stuff that is out of gamejam scope, but something that could be interesting if you wanted to build more on the project. I think having two things that are dropping, one that regresses the plant in addition to what you already have would make it a bit more engaging. It could also add a bit more of a mystery, for example if what regresses the plant when you're giving it bones is something like fertilizer or water, then that would make it a bit more unsettling, in a "what am I growing here?" kind of way. Maybe even have a sound effect where it cries out in pain when you give it the wrong thing.
Overall a very fun experience though, good job!
I liked this! Fun little challenge to work out. It's a bit hard to control, but I think there is a certain charm to that being how it controls as well. The only thing I didn't like was the bouncing ball, it felt very arbitrary to me and I just had to try passing till I got it. Otherwise, very fun game, with a nice little music loop!
I think this was a fun game!I really like how the music doesn't get overbearing (which can easily happen in games like these).
Some notes of what I think can be added to make the game pop some more:
Add a bit more of an impact to the actions. It's fun to shoot and attack currently, but I think it could feel even better if there is some impact when we hit the enemies, which can be a sound effect, or particle effects, or similar.
This is more for further iteration, but it could be nice to add skills into the game, so that you're not just pressing one button while you're attacking, and instead have more varied movement options. I think the dash is a good start, but could be cool to have different attacks for example. They could even be added as loot!
Overall though, I had a fun time with your game, and also liked discovering the loot as I played. I thought it was really cool how the loot was themed to reinforce the theme of the game.
Fun little detective game! I really enjoyed it, thought it was a clever little mystery to figure out.
Some notes on User Experience that I had during the game:
When I had found all the clues, I kept getting the all clues found screen when I changed suspect, which was a bit annoying.
It could be nice to have some indicator for the cursor to show if there was more info with a clue or not, as when I got stuck I ended up just clicking on things again and again till I found the right thing.
It could be nice to get a little summary of the entire case when you've solved it, to confirm that you've had the right thoughts, think similar to how it's done in the Golden Idol games.
These are just small nitpicks though, and I thoroughly enjoyed the game. The art is really good, the music at the end was really nice, and I think the game was a very clever interpretation of the theme. I'll also say I think the cat is a very nice addition, giving you a cute partner to support you.
Good job!
Hi, thanks for the reply! No worries, I had fun finally just actually making and finishing a game!
Sorry about the failing executable, that's what I get for not checking the download before I submitted. I wasn't able to find your email, but I reuploaded the game on my google drive here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1riYK4VYK7H-ZpCD13uALLgnsmdr9-q--/view?usp=shari...
But don't worry, I definitely want to try to do some more game jams yet, when time allows.
