Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
My interpretation of the theme, "connecting with others makes us whole," began with a visual of two hands: one confident, the other hesitant. I initially translated this into a survival hiking game focused on trading items with NPCs, inspired by "One Red Paperclip" and the inventory mechanics of "80 Days." I wanted the grid-based backpack to represent the player's identity—"items define the self."

However, during prototyping, I found that a pure trading mechanic encouraged players to maximize profit, which contradicted the emotional theme of connection. To resolve this, I pivoted from transaction to narrative. The story now follows an Otaku protagonist searching for a missing pen pal. Instead of trading for profit, players use items to resolve encounters (inspired by "Dispatch") and write letters at stations to process their journey. The final game is a suspenseful story of self-discovery, where inventory management is not just about survival, but about choosing how to interact with the world.

I love the system you've developed here, the UI design is very well done. The vibes where great overall. I wish there was an option to pass by an event, I just used random items I had in my inventory so I could continue. I like the music track overall, but it's a bit loud and overpowers some of the other sound effects. Good entry, congrats.

Thanks for playing and for the kind words!!

The feedback is super helpful—I’ll definitely keep both in mind.

This is the first time I've seen this kind of system—I find it very fresh and interesting!

I feel like the experience would be even more immersive if the colors of the side interfaces (UI) and the central art style were more unified. (Just my personal feeling, though!)

Overall, it was a great experience!

Thank you so much for playing! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
The note about unifying the UI and art style is really helpful—I appreciate you pointing it out.

This was the first time I played a game with such a system, and my experience was really nice. The story wondering what’s going to happen and who this guy really is kept me engaged throughout. The designing and UI overall were great too, which made the whole experience feel polished. One  thing I noticed that when the player goes back to a checkpoint, the memories that were unlocked vanish. I think it would be great if those could stay saved once unlocked, so progress feels more consistent and rewarding. Overall, it was really good and enjoyable.

Thank you so much for the kind words!!
And thanks a lot for the feedback as well — this was actually something I struggled with during development. I kept this bug, hoping it would give players more room to experiment and try different memories after failing, making the experience a bit more forgiving.
That said, you’re absolutely right that there’s a lot of room for improvement here. I really appreciate you pointing it out, and thanks again for the thoughtful suggestion!

This is so cool! The idea of viewing each object from different perspectives is super interesting and once I got the hang of the central Kindness/Strength/Status wheel I found it really satisfying. I wish there was a way to beat the boss that didn't require just making different choices earlier in the game but I understand that's probably a scope limitation given the jam timeframe. Overall I really enjoyed this, super neat game!

really great concept for this sort of system! love the recontextualizing of memories to change the stats of items depending on how you view them. would love to see this in a more fleshed out experience!

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you like it!  I’d love to explore it further.

Hi Signol_Games, I'm stuck on “Where is this place...” and the “continue” button. I can't do anything. Just this screen. I'd really like to try your game.

Developer

Hi! Sorry you're experiencing this issue. This is a known bug in some browsers where the text animation callback doesn't fire properly.

Quick fix: **Click directly on the text "Where is this place..." itself** (not the button). This will reveal the full text immediately, and then the Continue button should work.

If that doesn't help:

- Wait a few seconds for the text to finish typing

- Refresh the page (F5)

- Try a different browser

I'm working on a permanent fix for the next update. Thanks for your patience!

After numerous attempts and browser changes, I still have the same bug.

I'll keep your game in mind and come back to it once you've fixed it, because I'm interested in it :)

Developer

Thank you for your interest! Your encouragement means a lot. I'll let you know as soon as the update is ready.

I think this is a super fascinating and polished concept. At first I didn't understand how to unlock memories of items, but I got the hang of it. I wasn't able to beat the bossfight.

I appreciate your detailed disclosure of your AI usage. Without AI, this would have been an astounding feat and an easy 5 stars.

Developer

Thanks for the encouraging feedback!

This was my first jam, and due to my "social phobia," I chose to solo with AI assistance for the parts I couldn't cover beyond gameplay and story. I'm definitely looking forward to collaborating with real people next time to capture those missing "sparks" of fun.

Sorry about the boss fight difficulty! It was a late-stage balancing oversight 😔. Tip: unlocking the "Folding Knife" and "Broken Pocket Watch" at the 4th station helps a lot.
