This is really impressive and very polished! Also I can't believe this has never been done before (to my knowledge). I think if you finish this game fully, it could be a massive success! I could be wrong about this never been done before but I've genuinely never seen it and to me this is genius!
The visual are great and the game play is fun and addicting. My own problem is that the music gets repetitive very quickly. Overall this is incredible!
Awesome little game! I love the mashup between old games. Really great job!
Fives across the board, this is so creative and then actually fun! Pacman better start looking for a new job
This was a really well done mashup of the two games! The mechanics complimented each other really well and the exploration was pretty fun! A map or way to track where you've been would be nice to avoid unnecessary backtracking, but the concepts presented here are really strong nonetheless!
Make a Majoras Mask theme map and it will be a 10/10. in this form its sadly an 9.99/10 :(
Nice game overall, definitely liked the enemies having different abilities. the first time I saw the red ghost, bro was Moving lol, I didn't expect him to move so fast. Great game!
I really enjoyed the level design and art. Had to get used to the constantly moving in one direction but it felt more natural after about a minute of playing. Very simple and fun!
Very polished game.
The idea behind the controls and movement is great. I didn’t like it for the first few seconds, but after a short while I got used to it and it started to feel good.
The game is really well made. Interesting levels, different enemy types, and interesting mechanics. All very solid.
Visually, the game looks great. The graphics are nice. The music could maybe use a bit more variety, though, as it feels like it loops in a very similar way.
The stone pushing puzzles were a bit unpleasant for me, mostly because the character’s movement speed made them harder than they needed to be.
The levels felt a bit too large. I often found myself wandering around and trying to figure out where to go. I’d either make the progression more linear (for example, always moving to the right after finishing a floor) or add a minimap.
On my first attempt, I got stuck behind the dragon statue, which was very frustrating. Having to restart the entire game because of something that wasn’t my fault felt really bad.
The atmosphere, the Pac-Man references, and the old-school game inspirations are flawless. Truly unique and very well done.
At times, the camera made me feel a bit dizzy. Something about its movement could probably be smoothed out, but that might just be me.
Overall, the idea is great and definitely worth further development. A very solid game.
I really love it! I love the animations, so awesome.
the game is sooooo goooood i love it the tiny ghostes ware soo cute
The level design is really well done; the map is designed in layers. When you see something on an upper level, you need to look for stairs to reach it, which gives a great sense of exploration. Overall, the game is very enjoyable. The ghosts aren’t too challenging at first, but when two or three appear in a row, they can really put pressure on you. I couldn’t find the shop in the second and third levels — I hope it exists, because gold starts to pile up quite a bit.
Yes they do exist :) I'm surprised you managed to beat the game without finding the shops on the second and third levels XD that's impressive. Thanks for the feedback!
I struggled quite a bit. I had saved up 1500 gold, but I was only able to buy a bit of health and speed from the shop in the first level. When I played again, I realized the shop on level 2 was on the left after going down. I don’t remember the exact location in level 3, but I did manage to find it as well. It ended up being one of the few jam games I played all the way through without getting bored. Congrats again!
Loved the art, but I found myself getting a bit lost a lot of times. Also, just a preference thing, but I think it would be more satisfying if the coins went to the player when they break the pots instead of them having to double back and pick them up - maybe increasing the radius in which they magnetize to the player? Overall though nice work!
Thanks for playing :D. I really like getting lost myself when playing dungeon crawler but i guess some people may prefer to be more in control XD. Glad you liked the art, i put a lot of effort into it :) I do agree the coin mechanic need some tweaking though
Great game. Having the character always moving like PacMan is an amazing idea to blend with a dungeon exploring like Zelda. Besides the corner clipping, the only critique I would offer would be that I wish the ghosts cherries would've been replaced with another fruit that way I can still capture the ghosts while I get lost in the dungeon. If I took a cherry and destroyed a ghost, I don't have a problem with them respawning. But it feels a little bad having nothing to destroy any ghosts while looking for the last cherry. Awesome game.
Thanks a lot for the feedback :D. I also noticed the clipping but i don't really know how to fix it XD. I really like the idea of making cherries replaced by another fruit after some time :) will keep in mind this idea for future projects
Really awesome entry. I can imagine the effort put into this as well. it's giving me Link to the past vibes I just wish there was a way I could fight back other than pacman style hahaha. But yea, I totally enjoyed this. I found I think 5 portions? I didn't know how many I needed so maybe add an indicator somewhere so the players will get a sense of progress.
Thanks a lot for the feedback :D I will definitely keep in mind to implement more stuffs that help the player keep track of their progress in future games. I'm happy that you felt the game was similar to Zelda :). I spent a long time studying the style for this (although I couldn't really replicate the style because it was too different from what I usually draw) but glad some people still find it similar :D
really nice graphics and solid ideas here. i found it a bit confusing and couldn't tell where i was, where the goal is, or if i was making progress. i would say it needs a longer interactive tutorial but obviously its fine since its a jam game. great work, one of the best games for sure
Thanks for the positive feedback :) And yeah I think i should have put in a map into the game so that people can have an easier time moving around the dungeons lol :) Glad you were still able to enjoy it :D!
I thoroughly enjoyed this game! It was super satisfying collecting coins, and I really like the fun little key placement on the blue key 😋I did find it a bit hard when I upgraded my speed too much, as I struggled to move around the puzzles or to interact, but that could just be me. lol Overall this is a very nice game! Nice job!
Glad you enjoy it! And yeah I know it would be harder to position yourself when you move too fast XD but I already make the player move slower when pushing stones so I hope it wasn't that bad :) Thanks a lot for the kind words!
This is fun! I do wish there was a map though, as if you lose track of where you've already been it can be kind of annoying. Maybe you can find the map in each level, just like Zelda. Either way, very impressive! Love the art style
Yeah true, there were a lot of things I want to implement into the game that Zelda has but I didn't have enough time :( Thanks for the kind words though :D Glad you loved it
Cool mix up of two completely different games. Love the sprite work too and thanks for having a reset button for the block pushing puzzles because I needed to retry a lot.
Yeah I knew the block puzzle might be hard for some player :) I originally put a ghost next to the very hard puzzle for the 3rd level but it was too hard for my playtesters so I removed it XD. Glad you enjoyed the game
nice graphics and general gameplay! Love the idea of pacman zelda mash-up, nice creativity! I was bit confused where to go but still nice :D only two things i would suggest was:
- the coin sound is glitching and unpleasant (maybe becuase too many are played simultaneously?)
- the music is super nice, but make the loop longer/add some variation. i think it is the perfect vibe but is too repetitive imo :)
good job on everything!
Thanks for the feedback :D Glad you love the gameplay and art. I will definitely try to improve the sound aspect of my future project using your advice :)
I really liked the art and animation in this one!
Thanks a lot for the kind words!
