Really cool idea! Found UI a bit confusing at first but figured it out after a bit and played with Propdev and a couple others for a while, was very fun, had some laughs. Really underrated

haha thanks! glad to hear some laughs were had. i appreciate y'all for organizing a lobby to try together. if you have time, let me know one of the parts of the UI that was a bit confusing - maybe the Host/Guest label looked like a button, or the join button isn't consistently styled like the other buttons?

I think I was a bit confused by the pals row a bit, yeah, didn’t realize what the number in square brackets was for at first. I also thought the “Only HSK 1 word list is used” text was some kind of stat for the lobby? Like some kind of counter that would go up eventually. That’s probably just on me though lol, wasn’t familiar with the term 😅

no worries! i found this to be valuable feedback. it's easy to have blindspots about what's obvious when you're the one making the game

This has a really nice idea! a multiplayer game for the jam is really impressive and i laughed here and there when we were playing

the only problem is that people need to organize in order to play, which is fair as its multiplayer, and if it had an end and a leaderboard with like 5 minute rounds it would feel a bit more complete

but if it had like players and more languages, it would be a great multiplayer experience!

Developer

thanks! itch seems to be temporarily blocking me from posting comments, but if you see this, i really appreciate the feedback! those are all fair points i'll note down for the next iteration

I don't really understand the point of this game? The art looked nice, but thats about it

thanks! i put effort into making the little mascot that squints when you hover/click on it and tried to make the general UI look nice. besides the game page description notes, the general idea is that sometimes you end up with funny suggestions from pals for things that sound like the word and end up helping you remember the word better. along the lines of / taking inspiration from "Gartic Phone" "Pic-Me!" and "Make it Meme". hopefully that clears things up?

It does help with understanding it. Thanks for the clarification! (moving up the rating a bit)

i'm trying to get back into making games as a solo indie game dev, so constructive feedback is appreciated, and if you enjoy this game, please consider donating!

and unfortunately, i'm not able to work on this tomorrow, so i have to submit it now.
