The game is pretty okay for simple Mario game platform and add more idea stuff.... However I do have big problems with this game..and Is The control.. Control is kinda suck.. Like No a offense of course.. But character just move too fast or just not able to jump long enough to other blocks side.. Even if it did.. the block feels like ice.. ( and yes you can jump again laterly on the game.. But still.. Control should handle kinda better ) Because That block are literally ice.. I could easily fall to spike.. Make it game more frustrating to play.. Than fun.. I don't know if you did that on purpose or not to make rage game.. But even if you did.. I still think you should focus on control first more before you continue more intro this game.. And make kinds fun and also kinda annoying.. If it is rage game .. Because there could be someone rage out because it feels unfair and kinda unplayable ( even with check point side.. Still can be unfair.. and kinda unplayable .. Especially when check point far away from the player ).. But Other than that.. your game dose have some potential to be good..is just..execution is also important.. Not just idea.. I hope you take this feedback well and not hatred :)
Here you meme for you :)
Lol ( no but seriously though.. Thanks for making this game jam .. Even if is not perfect :) ) and I hope you have a good day :)
Thanks for the feedback.
One of the game’s main goals is rush, so it’s normal for the character to feel fast. The character can actually jump far enough; including the double jump, you can jump even farther if you hold the space key. I understand the blocks feeling slippery like ice. Honestly, it’s a feature I didn’t like either, but my friend wanted to keep it, so we left it that way. I think this is the only unfair part of the game; once you understand the mechanics, the rest is doable. And yes, this is a rage game.
I am not big fan for rage game.. Especially if it's way too difficult unnecessarily.. So I can't say this game is for everyone.. But.. I say this... At least you honest about it instead you just ignore it :).. And you did try your best to reach this goal.. Even if isn't my type favorite games :)
Mate, don't get me wrong, but you didn't even bother making a new game, you sent the game you made months ago, and now you're telling us this? Are you serious?
Honestly, I didn’t want to say anything about this. Sorry about my friend’s harsh tone. But honestly, when so many people put effort into this jam, submitting a game you made before instead of creating a new one feels a bit disrespectful to me.
The gameplay is incredible , very classic with flying jump but really great also , graphics make me remember some old classic game like super mario bros or I wanna be the guys . Really amazing !
thx for comment
You certainly captured the old school feel with the looks, but I found it rather basic. The sometimes pixel perfect movement requirements became frustrating at times. I'd find myself clip a spike and be thrown immediately back to a previous location. A half second delay to help process that I died might have helped. There were a few occasions that I immediately ran off an edge because I hadn't released the movement key fast enough. I might suggest making the character less floaty as it generally feels more responsive, but I think you used that to your advantage during level design. As a small note, I really appreciate that you made a sound for when the character runs. I find that small detail to make a big difference.
Actually, you're right. It would have been better to have a short waiting period after death. Thank you for your comment. I hope you enjoyed yourself.
Fantastic game. Grandpa owes me $5 bucks at least.
thx for comment. I saw and watched your stream. Thank you very much for playing our game. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
I think you found a bug, Shift also works on the ground.
You've found a bug, but Shift should actually work on the ground too. We also tried some background tests, but I wasn't very successful. Personally, I don't think I'm a very good artist, and my friend's drawing style is also quite different from this type of drawing. We did our best, I hope you enjoyed it.
Well made rage game! These aren't for me, to keep my sanity but really appreciate the effort put in, especially the artwork for the cut scene! The only feedback I have is that the travelling distance when jumping feels too much like "floating" rather than jumping, but that's just my personal taste for physics!
I agree with you, jump. It's not like jumping, but this is all I could manage. I hope you enjoyed it and thank you for your comment.
You owe me a keyboard! 😄 Jokes aside, the game only has two mechanics — jumping and phase shifting — and it executes them so well. It ended up being both the most frustrating and the most enjoyable game I played in the jam. I didn’t encounter any bugs. The only thing that caught my attention was the brick pattern you used in the TileMap — wasn’t there a right corner tile? My character slipped there once or twice.
Yes, as you said, we didn't make a right corner. My aim was to slide the player anyway, so I made the character's collider round too. Maybe that's why I owe you a keyboard :D
at first I didn't like how the jump felt but as I continued to play I grew to like it a lot :)
I absolutely agree with you. Jumping didn't appeal to me either, but whatever I tried just didn't quite work out, so I decided to leave it at that. I hope you had fun.
